The Village House was a dream location for our wedding reception. The whole team specifically Julia and Shelby were so easy to work with and just the sweetest people. They helped make our special day run smooth and it turned out perfectly. The whole venue was absolutely beautiful, made for great pictures inside and outside.

We planned our wedding with Julia and Shelby at the Village House. They were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We had so many questions throughout the process, which Julia and Shelby answered quickly and thoroughly. They helped us plan the absolute perfect day!!
Shelby was also our day of coordinator and went above and beyond to make the entire day special. I was able to truly enjoy the day and Shelby handled all the day of details. I cannot recommend Shelby enough for the day of coordinator.
I cannot recommend the Village House enough if you want to celebrate your wedding day in Pawleys Island - it was beyond fantastic!

The Village House at Litchfield was the perfect venue for a rehearsal dinner for our son and now daughter-in-law. It was an evening I will never forget. Julia Nichols, Shelby, and the entire staff at The Village House were committed to making this event special for our family and our guests. We met with Julia in the spring of last year and decided to host a seated dinner. However, there are several options for food service. The venue is also a beautiful wedding spot should a bride want to have a ceremony and reception at The Village House. The food was amazing! Our guests were served beef filet or fish. A vegetarian option was offered. The sides and the hors d'oeuvres to include sushi were delicious. The bar offerings can be tailored to your budget. We asked for two special desserts for which we provided the recipes- chocolate trifle and banana pudding, and the chef was able to accommodate that request. The venue is well maintained and very clean. The space was large enough for us to offer a cocktail hour inside in the bar area adjacent to the dining room. The bar is beautiful and adds character to the space. We set up cocktail tables on the screened porch. For an event larger than ours, there is also a lovely spot outside that includes a gazebo and room for an outdoor bar. The day of the dinner, Julia, Shelby, and the amazing crew were hands on. The tables and chairs were set up as we requested. Once we provided the tablecloths, the place settings were arranged and ready for the beautiful flowers and placecards. Throughout the cocktail hour and dinner, Julia and her staff were checking on us to be sure our needs were met. To top it off, Julia, Shelby, Chef, bar staff, and servers are lovely people. Their positive energy and smiles added to an evening we will never forget.

I had an author event there today and they did an A+job!! We had 80 guests with Linda Ketron from Classes at Pawleys and the service was great and the food delicious.

The Village HouseChrissie + Matt 11/11/23We had such a beautiful experience and day at The Village House for our wedding, I couldn’t imagine anything more perfect.. The recent remodeling, the attention to detail with the new upgrades and their creative southern menu were what really made up our minds for us. We knew we wanted a Pawleys Island Wedding, we just didn’t know if we wanted a Golf Course view, Creek view, Beach or something different. The location and feel of The Village House, right beside Litchfield Country Club, nestled between Litchfield Beach and the river, gave us plenty of options for the wedding I wanted.What I originally thought I wanted in Feb 2023 when we started planning changed roughly 4-6 times before the event actually went off, the most drastic of changes was to accommodate the rain at the last minute. The staff and proper planning really created a seamless transition that was handled with care the morning of the wedding. It was all extremely thoughtful and swiftly executed for the chaos of the wedding morning.Julia and Shelby listened to our wants and wishes featuring cocktails, a champagne toast, a cupcake table, bird arbor and a live painter, and even pivoting the menu two weeks out. Their menu options are comprehensive and gave our guests a little taste of The Low Country which is exactly what we wanted. We had fun with our walk throughs, burying our bottle of bourbon and finding space for “the birds” the whole weekend. [Our wedding featured 1000 paper cranes throughout!!]Julia is incredibly patient, communicative and willing to help. She is easy to reach when I was confused or missing an integral detail. She was always willing to offer patient and thoughtful tips, especially when I missed an integral part of the planning process. She is also very easy to work with and creates a very direct schedule for vendors.Again, we are completely satisfied, happy and overjoyed at how things turned out. I would say “I can’t wait to do it again!” But planning one wedding is enough for me :) We cannot wait to have them host another event or better yet, attend an event as guests!

On Dec.8/9, 2023, I had the opportunity to work along side of fantastic people at THE VILLAGE HOUSE in all respects from beginning to end in planning / executing a business Christmas party.I have been in the planning event business for many years and have never come across a manager/owner such as Julia Nichols.Her promptness to questions answered were timely as well as her well presented suggestions.Julia, along with the staff offered a helping hand in all respects and you from arrival to departure.Not only is the venue itself very nice and accommodating, but Julia can also provide... through their sister businesses....Wahoo's Fish House and Bovines at Murrells Inlet some exquisite catering.I would encourage anyone in the market for venue that is searching for:- Wedding- Corporate business party/meeting- Family gatheringLook to THE VILLAGE HOUSE !Not only was Julia so well rounded from her professionalism right on down to her kind and friendly mannerisms. This was shown and displayed as well through her staff. They were all very supportive in helping physically to bidding us good night after the event. I left as though I had not only done business with them but made some friends aling the way.I don't think I have ever taken the time to provide a review in the many locations I have worked with ... All I can say is.. WOW! Julia went above and beyond on our wedding day. Fortunately for us it was an easy choice to go with The Village House. Our first venue we looked at.. we knew right away this was the one for us. The Village House is so unique and just warm feeling and that is exactly what we wanted. From the food, to the set up process, to the decor, to the service.. everything was absolutely perfect. We were so pleased and all of our guests absolutely LOVED this place. Definitely will be recommending this to any future couples :)

This place absolutely exceeded my expectations! My husband and I are very indecisive but Julia and Shelby were so accommodating with making last minute changes for us. Since we are from NY, we were very nervous about things being up to our standards. Especially with picky Italian relatives, and I can honestly say that everyone was raving about the food! The service was amazing, as well as the bartenders making delicious drinks! From the moment we walked in, we were so happy with the layout and the detail the Village House went through, even dressing up our favors on cute displays. Our guests are still talking about the wedding and wishing we could go back to that night! Can’t thank Julia and Shelby enough for all their hard work and their patience. Truly a magical night because of them and all the staff at the Village House!
