I've camped all over the US and can say this is the best cared for park with the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. Hamilton Branch State Park should serve as a model for other state parks.Playground: Great small playground with beautiful views and geocache near byRestrooms: Hands down the cleanest, most well taken care of campground bathrooms ever. The only downside is the number of stalls and showers, I imagine during the busy season, there might be a line to use the facilities.

I had been in the Hamilton Branch State Park vicinity several times, but I wasn't even aware that it was there. I visited them the day after talking about it. It looks great out there. I will see them again soon.

We just made a day trip to see what it was like. The water was down a good bit, so it was hard to make a first impression. The park itself is huge. The roads are in good shape, and sites spaced very nicely. They only have 1 trail for walking with your dog and only 1 shower stall in the bath houses, so that was a little disappointing, but overall, it seems like a nice park.

Beautiful park. The sites are very spread out and semi-private. Plus they are right on the lake. You can’t beat it.Playground: They have a large playground for kids.Dog-friendliness: All dogs have to be on a leash but that’s pretty typical.

Fall/winter is good camp weather and a quiet, nearly empty park.Playground: Large and clean.Restrooms: Clean & some are close by sites but not all, not quite enough during busy summer months.Dog-friendliness: Few people here so none of the yapping & barking you deal with all summer. Great place to walk/hike with dogs.

We love Hamilton Branch, but we brought our camper to a back in site and the power box was on the other side of the camper it was more a pull in and back out which I could make work but the water and electricity hook ups were no where close to the campers. I had to switch campsites with our friends they were tent camping. Which they were already set up so was a pain. They only we could have made it work was back our camper in and the door would face away from the lake

This is another great SC State campground. Almost every single campsite is on the water ! The restrooms are clean w/ 1 or 2 showers and an electrical outlet for a blow dryer. It may not be the case when all 200 sites are occupied and there are only 9 bathrooms for those campsites. But in the off season its fine. The campsites are very spacious and most have some privacy. Each has electric and water, picnic table andfire pit. They are partial gravel/ mostly sandy soil. The camp store is welcoming and ice is only $2.50 a bag. But everything else was a little more pricey. $7.50 for firewood which is about average. Lots of junk food and slurpees for the kiddos. This is a great park to birdwatch ! And we saw deer running along the water in the early morning . Seemed to be armadillos around at night but we never saw themPlayground: Children’s playground in day use areaRestrooms: Clean, showers, outlet for a blowdryer or what everDog-friendliness: Trails to walk with your dog as well as around the lakePicnic area: Covered pavilions as well as picnic tables in the open air

Excellent place to camp! It was our very first time, and the staff was super helpful and friendly. The bathroom is really good and clean. There is a lot to do, especially in the warmer months. It’s definitely on our list to go again.Excellent place to camp! It was our first time and the staff was super helpful and friendly. The bathroom is really good and clean. Great for camping and boating. Almost every campsite is waterfront. Not a ton for hiking trails in the main park, but plenty nearby.

Beautiful, amazing place!!! Best campstore clerk ever !! Some of the sites are close quarters but lots of spots are huge !!! You can fit big campers including my motorhome! She’s 37ft. No issue backing her in the spot !! We stayed at spot 98. And absolutely will be back !!

Nice campsites, had a group to our left that were kind of ignorant and a little loud but for the most part everything was great here.

Pros...Sites were well spaced out and nicely sized, great views from all the spots we passed by, potable water at a tent only site was big bonus for us. Bathhouse easily accessible and well lit.Staff was friendly and very helpful. Fishing loaner program, in the well stocked camp store. Park was well kept in general and bathhouse was cleaned daily and issues resolved quickly. They had an official halloween on Saturday section with blocked off traffic, welcome bags for the kids, photo ops as you walk in, campsites decorated and even had smores and apple cider and face painting...overall awesome family fun vibes.Cons....wish there was an easier way to get after hours help as our secrion was without a host for a couple of days and we had some noise makers a few spaces down, partially my fault for not notifying staff during the day after first night.Restrooms: Mens had 2 toilets, 1 urinal, and 2 shower stalls. Good water presure, decent hot water. Soap and toilet paper never ran out.Dog-friendliness: Dogs on 6ft leash
