After being a loyal customer for over 10 years, who referred countless people to their office, I have made the decision to take my fur babies elsewhere. The shift I have seen over the past few years both saddens and frustrates me. I no longer feel like they care about taking care of their clients as much as they care about generating revenue. The final straw was when we suddenly and tragically lost our youngest dog. It was a very horrific experience and took us all by surprise. It was literally one of the worst days of my life. In the days following, we did what anyone would do after a loss, we looked for answers and some sort of closure. My husband and I both called (not knowing the other was reaching out) and left multiple messages for two of the doctors..... no call backs. It wasn't until I spoke with the office manager that someone finally called us back. Why should it take this much effort, during such a hard time, to get a return call from a doctor!? Over the last month I jotted down questions for our primary doctor and left a message with the office for her to call me when she had a few minutes. Imagine my surprise when the front desk person called me back instead. Once again, our doctor could not be bothered to return my call! After 10 years and multiple pets with them, my business didn't matter enough to warrant a 10-minute call at the end of her day. At that point it was blatantly clear it was time to go elsewhere. When I spend thousands of dollars with someone, and trust my babies in their care, I certainly expect a level of respect, concern and professionalism in return. I moved my business that day and had their medical records transferred. Had things ended there I wouldn't be writing this review. I would have just chalked it up as another disappointment and business that has lost sight of their values. However, they chose to stoop so low as to send me a nasty letter just to get the last word. A letter telling me that they were terminating their relationship with me. How petty, juvenile and unprofessional. This letter did nothing but confirm I had made the right decision to take my business elsewhere. If your pets are your "kids" - I would strongly recommend NOT choosing Catawba Animal Clinic.

They quoted me a price for my dogs eye medicine and said I could pick up anytime. Since I didn't do right away that my $40 charge was now going to be over $110 . I am no longer taking my dog there.

This veterinarian clinic gave my dog the wrong medications twice when he was boarded there. When I wanted to talk to them about it, they terminated me as a client. I would be very careful about taking your pet here. This kind of treatment could have catastrophic results.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I took my dog there yesterday. I entered the building to drop off some paperwork and spoke to a very nice lady. She then directed me to the back area where my dog was to be groomed. I dropped KoKo off . All was well until I arrived to pick up my pet. When I entered the back area a young lady rudely ask me where my mask was? I thought to myself .Well, the nice lady at the front desk a few minutes earlier did not ask me where my mask was? Why Now? I suddenly noticed I was receiving mixed messages, I nicely explained and took the time to inform her that I had been vaccinated already, Needless to say, up walked another rude individual saying the same thing. I again explained to her I had been vaccinated. Again, was told you will have to leave and if I did not they would call someone. I was completely exhausted by this time . Then up came this young man (approximately a few hundred pounds) . It was as if this scenario had all been staged and maybe even discussed earlier as a technique to use perhaps to intimidate customers who did not follow their rules (of course this pertains to only the back area of the business). I hope that this was not the case .Of course he repeated the same things to me. You need to leave if you do not put on a mask. The large man was , however ,intimidating to me. Next entered a nice professional woman. She gently ,in a compassionate and professional tone ,said to me "Mam, if you feel comfortable hand me your visa and I will process it for you and actually bring the invoice and the bill to the car and then someone will get your dog and bring him to you." At that point, I took her suggestion and went to my car. I felt as if I had been discriminated against (as if I was a threat to everyone's health in the back area and perhaps to the pets, too). After I went to my car, I telephoned the Rock Hill Police Department and explained to an officer what had occurred. He was sympathetic to my situation however, explained to me I was on private property and these were the rules in place. I will not return to Catawba Animal Hospital of course. But, I felt then and still feel now I must let the public know what happened. Perhaps some sensitivity training can be implemented to better deal with situations like mine and in addition an across the board policy where all personnel in all areas are "on the same page" when they are confronted with an individual who opts not to wear a mask. Obviously, in the coming weeks and months the personnel at Catawba Animal Hospital will again encounter numerous individuals who have been vaccinated and will indeed opt NOT to wear a mask. I hope the personnel at Catawba Animal Hospital approach it in a totally different manner than they chose to approach me. B.Jean

I moved here from Texas and needed a new vet for my cats and dog. My dog Leo was a senior dog (17 when we moved here) and Dr. Morrison was extremely compassionate when it came to senior health. Leo made it to a wonderful age of 19 and when it came time Dr. Morrison was informative, compassionate and patient. Any time I had a concern they had me bring Leo in right away and treated him really well. I would highly recommend Catawba Animal Hospital for any fur baby.

John Mazur cared for my pets for many years and is a dedicated, compassionate, professional animal protector not just an average veterinarian. John is an excellent human and trusted doctor. I actually looked him up to see if he had moved his practice closer to where I currently live, and while I can not commute to RH, I did feel compelles to write a review based on 20 years of experience.

We moved from CA to SC looking for a vet for our 3 fur babies. Our dog had an ear infection and they got us in right away. The staff was very friendly and our dog loved in there. We met one of the vets and she was very nice and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable. They don't try to nickel and dime you. We have found our new vet! :)

Our dogs have been going to Catawba for years. They have helped us with everything, grooming, shots, checkups, and letting dogs go. Everyone is friendly and does an excellent job with our animals. I would definitely recommend going to Catawba if you're looking for a place to take your animals.

I am extremely impressed after my visit today! I was concerned after moving to Rock Hill that the closest cat-only vet was in Ballantyne. After a personal recommendation, I decided to try Catawba. Everyone that I interacted with was incredibly courteous and understanding. My typically anxious cat was visibly more relaxed than I expected him to be. Our room had a cat tree and soothing bird noises, which my little guy loved. I also appreciated that even though my kitty is a new patient, they used the information my previous vet had and they did not make me go through the process of redoing x-rays (a huge money saver). Thanks, Catawba Animal Clinic for a great experience and fair pricing! Bruce and I appreciate it.

Dr. Barber is so so so precious! I didn't catch her nurse's name, but she was amazing, too! I could not have had a better experience! My dog is very shy and afraid, but they were so sweet and took their time to make sure he was comfortable.

I can't say enough good things about Catawba and especially Dr. Platt. We had issues this winter with our 9 year old dog and Dr. Platt was determined to find out what and how to make her better. It would have cost us thousands to take her to Charlotte for treatment. Dr. Platt ran all the tests and did all the investigation to find out what was wrong with our Gingersnap. Today, she is happy and healthy again thanks to the wonderful care she got. We also board our dogs and have never had any problems. When we take them, they know all three dogs by name and Shadow looks forward Shannon visiting and playing with him.
