The Orangeburg SC Raise the Roost is the worst; the chicken is not served fresh. It stays under heat lamps until it is sold. Menu items like fish and slaw are not available. The attending manager does not seem to care, the crew is an unpleasant joke.

Unfortunately it's often closed when it's supposed to be open. The employees are grumpy about having to make food so they don't set up the food station.

The order I picked up was not the order I placed and the manager argued with me regarding what I ordered, refused to look at the mobile app and told me that I’d have to go thru the drive thru again if I wanted to add to the order the food I needed to complete my mobile order. The was rude and argumentative. This is not the first time we’ve had trouble here and I should have avoided this location.

I been getting their Fish Dinners, very good. Only problem is getting shrimp is hit or miss. I ordered a 6 pc and a 10 pc this last time. Did not get the 10pc. Still excellent fish, love the crinkle fries to.Note they are only open till 5pm according to Yelp.

I was disappointed with my 1st visit to this location. My potato wedges were piping hot, fresh. But my chicken was nowhere near fresh. It was old, it had too much breading on it and it also tasted like it had been fried in old scorched grease. Now I must admit, I will give them one more shot because it looked like they were ready to go home when I came in around 2:00 p.m. even though they stay open till 8:00. I thought it was going to be staffed by just Raise the Roost employees but it looked like it's still 7-Eleven employees that are working over at the raise the roost counter. That's probably part of the problem. My next attempt will be during breakfast hours.

I have tried twice and both times the food was greasy and soggy. Coffee was ok, the very warm welcoming older Woman that greets you is the only thing hitting on something.

What a surprise this is....... So far I have had the chicken biscuits, spicy chicken biscuits, and the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Honestly, this is a great place to pick up an early breakfast without any lines. The food is fresh, hot, and very tasty. Reasonably priced, and for me I would have to say that this is going to by the first stop I make to start the day off right. The staff is friendly, the buffalo chicken sandwich is worth twice the price. NCFoodguy
