the customer service both on the phone and in person is horrendous. this is 2024 not 1946 people of color can both afford homes and pay for service. My appointment was scheduled after 1pm today due to me having a medical appt. But the installer(Jason C.) or whatever you call him wanted to be rude and questioned if I am the owner. So when I called in to complain and request someone new the customer service rep (Misty)answers Yeah how can I help you. I told her the issue and she says that's it? We will send someone back out at 1pm then. Really? They will never send anyone with the way the speak and are disrespectful. if you need service trust me they aren't who you want to use especially with a 1 star Yelp review before I even left mine.

Since they have changed to superior gas it takes 7 to 10 days to get fuel so if you are really low you will be left in the cold.

1/23/24 3:30pm*Update*Mr. Davis did contact me and I appreciate his attention BUT!We are not “will call” customers, we are on automatic fill and we do pre purchase our gas.I understand the issues you are facing but again as long term customers we expect the same service we had when dealing under Freeman. We did not run out of propane and if any customer in good standing with your company did in your service area it speaks volumes as to service!Again I appreciate the feedback, my understanding after my conversation with you that we can fully expect the service we have been use to with Freeman Gas in the past.Mike MorrisI need to echo the other reviews, terrible service! We pre purchase gas yearly and same run around as others stated, 5 to 7 day delivery since changing ownership!Their dedication to long term customers is terrible!

Buyer beware! Horrible experience! The sales lady was awesome and knowledgeable… unfortunately NOTHING ELSE about Freeman Gas is good! The installation team was hours late (and no call). Then I called the office and they reported the installer was having car trouble. She said they would call once the truck was repaired if they could make it out. Then 4 hours past the window they gave… the guys showed up without a phone call. And sadly, that was the tip of the iceberg. The guy acted like he couldn’t put the tank in the previously chosen place (not because of code or policy either!) He also told us he couldn’t install a wall heater we purchased because there was no outlet (when the item we purchased didn’t require any power). He ended up telling us he would cancel the order rather than working to find a solution!? We went to speak with the manager, Scott. He immediately came out in defense of his employee rather than even hearing anything we had to say.Save yourself the time and hassle… use Ideal Fuel, Blossman, Amerigas, or Suburban! AVIOD FREEMAN GAS!!!!

We loved Freeman Gas when it was locally owned. We used to never had to call for Gas. They always made sure we had gas when we needed it. Now we have to call almost everytime it's at 30%. Been calling since Monday it's now Friday and down to 10%. Its suppose to be down in the teens all weekend. They just left filling my next door neighbors and we talked to them. They said sorry your not on our route. This is our only source of heat! I'm pretty sure it will be empty before Monday if they even come then. I called back once again and they said I could call the emergency number after hours but we would be charged $200 unless it was at 0%.

We have used Freeman Gas through our landlord for the last 3 years with no issue. As of this year our issues have begun. I would rate The Roebuck branch negative stars if i could. We placed a call on a Wednesday in January to have them come out and refill our tank. We were told that there is a 7 to 10 business day wait. That seemed a little ridiculous considering the time of year. There reason was because they only have 2 drivers for the entirety of spartanburg. Fast forward to the next Tuesday, i place a call to get an idea of the time frame we were to expect. I was told that they were unable to get an ETA at that time but they would let me know. No call, Email, or smoke signal. Tonight marks a week from our original call. We call because the temperatures are supposed to be low and at this point we are running on fumes. We agree to pay their ridiculous expedite fee of $200 to have it delivered within the day. We were told that the driver would be there soon and would call when he is en route. We waited 3 hours before placing yet another call to their office. We were notified that the receptionist we spoke to originally called the driver and he told her that he was over his driving hours for the day. That information was not relayed to us and we only found out about this because we placed our final call. We were also notified that we had to follow another string of automated phone messages in order to receive a refund for our expedite fee. I would not recommend Freeman Gas (Roebuck) to anyone. I would however recommend that you set fire to your living room furniture while you wait for a driver that isn’t coming.

When this company was the original Freeman Gas (locally owned) it ran wonderfully. Whenever I needed more gas I called and they were out to fill my tank within a day or two at the most. Now that they are owned/connected with Superior Gas, it is a horrible system. They take several days to come out to fill the tank unless you pay an extra, $200 or so, expedite fee. Then they only promise to deliver within 72 hours! If you have a choice, use a locally owned company. I own my tank and it looks like I am going to have to switch companies. Sometimes I can’t wait the 10 days they tell me it could take. When the weather is cold and my furnace is burning gas like crazy a lot of gas can be burned in a few days. This is not good customer service. I always pay in advance. Why should someone have to pay an extra $200 to get a company to deliver gas that has already been paid for? They shouldn’t take your money if they aren’t able to deliver your gas.

Alot different than it used to be.You are no longer greeted when you walk in the door. I went in today and stood there for 10 minutes, 2 females in and office on and off the phone, didn't look ati me, didn't acknowledge me, and I stood almost in their doorway. Finally someone walked out of the back seemingly going to anther part of the building, and ask if I had been helped.

I decided to ignore all the one star reviews and ended up paying $330 to shoot myself in the foot, and simply call them to come back a few months later to remove everything. Worst company i’ve dealt with in decades. Also, if you do call them on the phone and you get someone that does know what they’re talking about, their computer will magically be broken every single time you talk to them, (3+ times) and then they will not call you back or email you back or anything once they’ve gotten some of your money.

I called Freeman Gas on 12/21/2022 because my pilot light went out. I was told that a truck would be out to check my gas tank and reliant my pilot light. After I heard nothing from them I called back around 2:50 and was transferred to another person who could help, however, the message said that person was unavailable, so I went back to the main number. The person their said she was on break and call back in about 5 to 10 minutes. I did, when I called back, I keep getting an unavailable message and no way to leave a message. It is now 4:30 pm and I keep getting the message and I keep calling. According to their website they don't close until 5 pm.

I'd rate Freeman Gas a zero, if it were an option. Our home has been serviced by Freeman Gas for at least 3 years. We have relayed to your company repeatedly that our fireplace is our main source of heat, & are SUPPOSEDLY in your records as being on auto fill. The customers service reps & drivers have assured us repeatedly that they would check the tank once a month, but NEVER have. We always have to call, or request thru Chat. We've brought this up every time we request a fill.Several times we have had to keep calling, even though we've been told it'll be handled. I contacted Freeman 1.5 weeks ago, with no response via phone or email. Of course, no tank fill. It was @30#s. I called the corporate number this past Friday & the Freeman rep said that she would tell the driver. Tank was at 10#s. Yesterday, the Roebuck office phone just kept ringing, with no pickup. Second call, busy. Corporate office phone, busy. Here it is 4 days later, we have been sparing consumption to make it last, & are now our tank is completely empty.Earlier this year, 7 months went by with no check or fill. It's always been filled at the end of spring or before winter. Not this year..At one point I noticed that your company saying was that you treat all like family. Glad we're not related. If your company is not out to fill our tank TODAY, stop ignoring us, & treating us so badly, we will be looking at another company to fill our tank once a month. We cannot continue to tolerate this unprofessional behavior.

I have been a customer for close to 20 years, and I have been satisfied however my last experience was not pleasant. Since there is no other propane company in Spartanburg I am stuck with them. The people in customer service are not consistent in what they are to do and what they tell you. Then because of their inconsistency, I am getting charged more and more money.

I was not planning on doing this but I feel that it may help someone in knowing what to expect when considering this establishment for service. We had Freeman gas for several years at a house we rented. On several occasions we had gas put in our tank when we didn't ask for it. And most recently we bought a house. I called to have our service stopped and have it picked up. Now this tank was FULL when they picked it up. It has been too long and we have still NOT received a refund on the gas we didn't use. Friends I'm just telling you to do business with another company because you will regret having to deal with this kind of horrible service. In fact I can't even get someone to return a phone call to help me!!!!
