I was so impressed with this doctor!!
He spent a ton of time with my cat- more time than all the other vet visits combined with my previous vet. He took time to examine my cat thoroughly and talked to me about her health. He was very knowledgeable on everything and had such a sweet personality and was so easy to talk to. You could tell he loves animals and he really enjoys his job!! If you want great veterinary care for your beloved pets, go see Dr. Gerard at Advanced Veterinary hospital on Wilson Hall Rd! The staff is so nice too and such a clean place! I could really go on and on! Glad I made the appt and will enjoy taking her again!

I must say how amazing Advanced Veterinary Hospital was with treating my cat, Puddin. She was suffering from IBD and pancreatitis, and she was refusing to eat. They admitted her on a Friday afternoon late even though I had never gone there before. They hooked her up to IVs to balance her fluids and did thorough tests to actually find out why she was having the trouble as well as starting her on medicine to help the issues.
The previous vet, who had seen her a month earlier, for years had just kept telling me my cat was old and old cats do these things.
Puddin is now eating well and no longer in distress. She might be 14 years old, but she deserves her quality of life.
My thanks to Advanced Veterinary Hospital for such quality care.

Our dogs love Dr. Gerard. We love Dr. Gerard! However, his receptionist/wife Lois is the reason the review and rating is negative. Over three years have passed since the covid scare and yet she continues to "demand" people must wear a mask! They lost our business because of her and I'm sure they have probably lost many others. Wait in your car. She takes your card (but doesn't use sanitizer on it) and handles your pet's leash. Yet she says no mask will spread germs?! And she won't allow your pet to be seen unless you wear a mask....

The veterinarian is very good. He explains in detail everything you need to know about your pet. Works with clients on a variety of treatment options.Since moved from the area but wish I could have taken this Veterinarian with me. He is amazing. Great service for you and your pets.

Very upsetting that no over the phone payments are accepted. I work full time and could not take off to accompany my husband to the Vet, and my husband didn’t have my card so while my dog sat with a shard of wood in his eye awaiting care we had to scramble to find other methods of payment all because they wouldn’t take my payment over the phone. It’s very disheartening that no exceptions could be made because of the circumstances.Editing to reply to Owners comment. I understand you have policies but we moved to the area a month ago and so of course we haven’t been to your location before to establish any type of relationship. This was situation is uncalled for and I’m disappointed that no compassion was shown what so ever to our dog. And now my pet has to spend another 24 hour period with a shard of wood IN HIS EYE because we had to wait all day to process a payment by in person by card. When it could’ve been done promptly at 830 this morning when my pet arrived at your facility.And now because of my HONEST review of this facility they refuse to treat my animal. Dr. Gerard called me to tell me he wasn’t going to speak to me about my dog because supposedly our pet is only my husbands dog, and then continued on to say how since I’m unhappy (per my review) they’re refusing to treat him. And that he expected me to take my review down, but did not try to explain anything regarding the supposed policy which prompted my review in the first place or apologize for any misunderstandings due to staff (being Christy Gerard and himself) not giving a full explanation of what to expect and then blaming it on being rushed into surgery. He then went on to place the blame of my dog not being treated after being held for 4 hours in their facility on me not having money for the procedure, when in reality I had the money the entire time but Christy refused to take my card over the phone (per my review above) so I could do as I intended and make payment immediately so my dog could be treated as quickly as possible. I expected a civil conversation as two adults attempting to reach a resolution after what was misconstrued information, but I definitely did not get that. What I got was someone who was not willing to try reach a resolution for the situation or figure out what actually happened, and someone who was quick to place blame and take zero accountability. He was defensive and disrespectful from the very start of the call, talked over me the any time I tried to speak and then hung up on me abruptly. When my husband went to pick up our dog he was given a lecture by Christy and she told him how disappointed they were that I had left my review and said that it “hurt their feelings” and then she felt the need to tap the bill of my husbands hat to get her point across. But of course denied touching him that after the fact.Now fast forward we take our dog to the closest emergency veterinary clinic in Columbia where there is a certified opthalomolgy doctor, seeing as this clinic did not have one. The doctor told us there was actually no reason for any surgery because there was in fact nothing in my dogs eye Iike Dr.Gerard told us there was. It was in fact just a scratch. So not only was Dr. Gerard rude but he’s also incorrectly diagnosed my dogDon’t bring your pets here unless you want to be treated like absolute trash and talked to like you’re a child. He was in no rush to help my pet and It’s apparent that they don’t actually care about a persons pets here. They only care about their image on google and money. This is hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a veterinarian’s office while just looking to get prompt care for my pet.. There’s really no excuse for the lack of compassion and empathy for our dog or us and it’s disturbing that’s how you treat someone coming in to get help for their animal especially someone who just moved to town and is experiencing an emergency. I will be sending a complaint to the state licensing board due to this terrible mistreatment of my pet.

I'm so incredibly happy with the service and level of care received by Dr. Gerard! Having moved across the country several times and visiting several different vets with my Aussie, I have never once been given the options and recommendations as great as I have here. I am so impressed by this place, they really know what they are talking about and take the time to explain everything to you. Absolutely recommend and will be back!

The doctor and staff are the best. Dr. Gerard is compassionate with my dog, always comes out to the car to greet him. Acknowledges phone calls and returns the calls. I have been very pleased.

Service is pretty slow, one of the ladies is quite rude and used rope to make a harness on a dog that didn't need one.Note: They say that the collar was lose/poor yet we tested it and it does not come off of her and she does not tug. The collar cannot come off of her unless unclipped.

I brought my 3 year old lab mix in for a rash yesterday and they were about to add me on as a walk in. Dr. Gerard is very professional and informative! He answered all of my questions and gave me multiple options of treatment for the rash and thoroughly explained each one. Great place!

I am new to town and tried to call, it goes straight to voicemail and you can ONLY get a call back.. I had an appointment at 5:00 and did not get helped until 5:30. It is very unfortunate that this did happen the way it did but the professionalism bar is on the FLOOR. There is nothing advanced about this vet.

Dr. G is very thorough and really seems to care about our Cody. We took all of our pets to another vet in town for years but switched to Dr. G last August. We are very pleased with the quality of care
