Not clean enough. A literally made a toe and a finger bleed. Hopefully I didn’t catch anything. And while they were slow on the pedicure (which I was fine with) they rushed the manicure and did it at the same time making me turn over to the side uncomfortably. The pillows provided for my manicure to be done on the chair were dirty.

I've been here a few times and all was fine, but today was an excellent experience and I felt I needed to leave a review.
I popped in on a whim and in a bit of a hurry. They were surprisingly quiet for a Friday afternoon. The lady that greeted me was super friendly and then I was directed to a chair where Angel gave me the best pedicure I have had in ages.
She was so thorough. I cringed when she pulled out the pointed trimmers because I have been hurt with those before, but she trimmed my nails amd cleaned everything up perfectly. No pain at all. She did a great job with my calluses and was thorough but didn't file anything too much. She did a beautiful job on my nails and was so meticulous she used a paintbrush with acetone to clean up all around my edges. I have had SO many pedis where they just left the over-painted parts and said they would wear off. Which, they do, but still...
Angel was so great I got her name so I can request her when I return. Because I WILL return from here on out. I suggest you request her, too, but only if you tip well ?
Stylist: Angel was amazing. I will go back to her from here on out.

First of all, the ambiance in this salon is great. From the beautiful light fixtures to the TONS of nail colors and other decor, it gives the place a relaxing and luxurious feel. It's not loud or hectic. Secondly, the staff is very kind, clean and detailed in their work. They are very gentle and careful around the cuticle areas. They took their time and checked with me continuously to make sure I was happy with the work being done. The women who did my services (Aimee and Crystal) were clearly quality technicians. Third and perhaps most importantly, this salon is very clean. I have high cleanliness standards for nail services and I can say I was very impressed! Also, this salon uses good quality product in their services which is important for the health of the nail and nail retention.
I've been to many salons in the Sumter area. This is by far the best one. I will definitely be back and would recommend Forbidden Nails to anyone!
Requested style: I requested a specific symbol (an ichthus) on accent nails, I've never seen any nails with one before and wanted it. I showed Crystal a photo of the symbol and she delivered!
Specialties: French tips and design were done exactly as I asked.
Cleanliness: This is the cleanest salon in Sumter, hands down. I was impressed by the cleanliness and that is one thing I'm picky about.
Stylist: Crystal did my acrylic set, she was absolutely fantastic and my nails were exactly what I asked for. Aimee did my pedicure and my toes looked beautiful. It was the best basic pedicure I've ever had.

Subpar
Cleanliness: The tech left polish all over my feet, too fast & did not take his time. The skin around my toes are jagged from him picking with the cuticle cutter. Instead of him scraping the build up from underneath my toes he painted over it. I have been having a difficult time trying to find someone to do a satisfactory job with pedicures.

I am impressed, definitely my new place for self care. Angel was my nail tech, and she was very sweet. She did an excellent job on my pedicure. I even spurlged for the lavender detox scrub kit.
The nail salon is clean, people are very friendly, and even offer you a drink.
The pedicure stations are very sanitary. They use fresh sterile tools.
I highly recommend it.

I am from the northern Virginia area… I have been to every single nail salon in Sumter… They’re all terrible. This one is excellent!! Clean. They have every color imaginable, pedicure chairs are comfortable and new. I got a pedicure as well as a gel full set total was $139. I spent much more at the other places, and they looked like doo doo. The pedicure was perfect, he removed my ingrown toenails. The massage was very enjoyable. The person who did my nails was Aimee and she couldn’t have been better! I highly recommend, and I am very picky!

Basing this review on my experience as a customer. I arrived and immediately was greeted. I had to wait 35 minutes due to everyone having a client which is understandable. However due to my time constraints couldn’t get both services that I originally requested. Unfortunately, my main issue is the overprice for the services rendered. I was charged $30 for gel polish to be painted on my toes. No, I did not get a pedicure. The normal price range is $20-25 without a pedicure. The average bottle of gel polish is $15 to $30 depending on the brand. Definitely ask for the price before getting any services.

don't get your toes done here. i got a regular pedicure and he trimmed and tried cutting the ingrown toenail on my big toe and it's now infected a week later. the experience was fine but i am not happy about an infected toe.

I recently had a pretty traumatic experience at another salon and was apprehensive to try a new place, and I am SO happy I chose to try forbidden nails- Taylor was AMAZING! Not only am I the most satisfied with the actual pedicure I received (it is the best one I have ever gotten- and this is with the experience of going to some of the top of the line salons in other cities) but Taylor was so nice, friendly, and super helpful when it came to discussing options and fun ideas. The salon is clean, the staff is professional— what a pleasure it was to find that in Sumter, and not to mention also well/reasonably priced : ) I will be a customer of Taylor’s as long as I’m in Sumter and would highly recommend Forbidden/Taylor to anyone!Service: Pedicure

Very nice and clean, the employees are great and they try to give you a relaxing experience. I would recommend making an appointment because it’s a popular spot.
