We rented Salty Beaches for an extended family vacation over Thanksgiving week. This was an amazing place to just relax and spend time with family. Our only complaint was that we felt the cookware was on the small size for a house that fits over 16 people. For example, the pots and pans were rather small for cooking for that many people. Other than that, everything was great. We loved the setup of the kitchen and living room. The beds were pretty comfortable. We would definitely visit again.

When we booked our rental for our vacation, the staff at Surfside were very helpful and courteous. Key pick up at check in was great, 4:30 is a little late to check in, but that is fine.We just recently returned from our stay, Water’s Edge Resort, unit 311. The rental itself from Surfside realty was very modern, and the owner had clearly done many updates, new kitchen & bathroom, beds comfortable, view of ocean was amazing. Great wi-FI, amazing big TV, lots of cable channels. The resort itself has done many updates to pool and deck area that are great.BUT here is a review of the service after you arrive from Surfside realty - the condo had only basic surface cleaning done, if that. The ceiling fans were so encrusted in dust, if we turned them on the dust hanging from them would have flung off onto us in our bed!The laundry room door was broke when we arrived, and came crashing down, and the doors so filthy with dust and dirt - literally hanging from the slats in the door - have not been cleaning in a long time.In the kitchen cupboards there were food crumbs and the glasses were so greasy with finger prints, I had to run most items through the dishwasher before we could use them.There was spots of blood on the bedspread - disgusting!The floors were so dirty, my white socks were brown just walking around, and the baseboards are so dirty. This place needs a complete deep clean!The oven is so dirty, when I turned it on, it set off the fire detector! So impossible to use.The unit also needs general maintenance - there is a lack of kitchen dishes - only 4 bowls! There is only basic utensils, and the pots and pans have been used and have had their day. The laundry only uses hot water to wash, and makes a loud noise when in use. And the smoke detector, the battery back up is needing a replacement, so it constantly beeps, and no extra batteries provided.I emailed several times while we were staying at the condo, and phoned and left several messages regarding all these issues. No one has reached out to me concerning these issues. Their customer service is so bad, once they get your money, and you are there, they do not care to help you. No one on vacation should have to re-clean a unit, it should be sanitary upon arrival. A few days in, a maintenance worker from Surfside did show up, but not to address any of our concern, his list was from the previous guests. He did help with a few things, but I addressed a few concerns with him, and again, no response from anyone at Surfside. I feel the owner of this unit would be very disappointed to see their oceanfront home in such disrepair.Surfside needs to completely inspect this unit and the others that they represent. I would hope this is not their usual standard, you pay a lot to rent a vacation home, it should be top notch. Our experience was not.Update - after Surfside responded, I would like to set a few facts straight:Yes, I did initially ask that no maintenance person be sent. But they did send someone, so that request was not honoured. The representative took photos - would they not have reported them? I did email a second time with these issues, more photos, still no response.The day before check out, I phoned, talked to Rachel, explained in detail the issues, left a voicemail with Ana, no response.A few days later, called AGAIN, still nothing. After 5 days, I posted my detailed review. Included all the issues and photos had during our stay. After posting review I FINALLY got a phone call from Surfside Realty. Please, do not present to the public that you had no idea of the issues, or that I didn't want anyone to call me. There were plenty of opportunities to reach out, and I asked you to. After my review, Surfside offered for our next vacation Ana would personally work within our budget to find me a nice rental - Funny, I would think that is what every perspective client should be able to expect from a rental company, that is wouldn't take a 'scathing' review to motivate good customer service.

Look elsewhere! Our family has rented from this company for more than 50 years and their customer service and communication is absolutely terrible. We had a horrendous experience a few years ago with the previous tenants chain smoking in our unit the previous week. It took 3 trips into the office on move in day to finally get in front of an owner who was actually interested in doing something for us. I said then I'd never rent from them again.Unfortunately, I didn't listen to myself. Booked again this year and had gross charges to "protect" owners, and terrible communication. I find it astonishing that a company that manages the number of rentals that they do can't be more CLEAR with their charges and communication. Of course, the 'peace of mind' charge is buried in the contract - we thought this was the travel insurance charge. It isn't travel insurance - it's to protect owners. And yes you get charged even though we left the unit in better condition than we found it. We received texts and emails that had contradictory information about our check-in procedures. They hassled us about having a credit card on file saying it was 'customary'. If it's customary - that does not mean required! We'll stick with Old Colony in the future as they actually make our vacation an enjoyable experience.

Surfside Realty Company is great. We were just driving by and we decided to stop in and ask them a few questions and about 30 - 45 minutes later, we signed a 6 month contract on a condo on the beach fully furnished. We didn’t think that we would do this today. The only reason why we had such an awesome experience was due to Mrs Bonnie. She is great. She knows customer service. If you ever have any questions about renting short term or long term or purchasing we highly recommend that you stop by and talk with Mrs Bonnie.

DO NO RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. Do not stay at Palmetto Paradise. They are all rude do not care about you all they want is your money. The houses they show in pictures are not the same as what you get. They have lawsuits out against builders for the houses knowing they are not safe and still rent them out. They will NOT handle any issues that come up. When they said they were going to issue half a refund they did not issue half they also did not refund taxes. Noone from the place will call you back. We had a broke dryer, washer that would shake and make so much noise you could not even wash clothes, no fans on the porches like the pictures show there should be and ac units on 3rd floor did not work. They ran an extension cord across the room and across the stairs to hook up a portable ac unit. Never told us his was the case so the 3rd floor was unusable for the kids room since the windows are propped open for ac unit and the electric cord running across the steps as a tripping hazard. We called everyday to try to get this fixed they did not care and did not come to move the cord until the day we were leaving so hopefully the next guest would not complain. I have called and emailed and called with no return calls to Director of Rental , Director of Business , Assistant Director of Guest Service. The only time they called back and care was when we let them know one of the children tripped and fell on the extension cord they ran across the steps. And all they wanted was a written statement so they could include that in the lawsuit they already have against the builder. This is a horrible company with horrible customer service.

I’ve been coming with my kids and family for the last 5 years, we haven’t missed a year . I’ve come pregnant and all . We get the same condo every year . I’ve been laid off all year and didn’t think we’d be able to go. My kids lost their dad on top of that last summer and it would be our first time coming by ourselves. A 3 and 1 year old . I thought For sure we would not be able to come this year . . But just to double check i decided to call and explain my financial situation and see if anything I could get last minute in two days that i could Afford . The ladies were so nice to me and understanding and found something we could afford! Ocean view! 7 steps away from our usual condo .Upon arriving after 12 hours in the car with two toddlers . They accidentally gave me the wrong key, but the door was open. I told Them I’d be down after unpacking to exchange the keys . Mind you Saturday is check in and check out day for them . Very busy . They called back and said we are coming to you! Stay there . . I also Quickly figured out our new condo didn’t have a luggage cart . I also couldn’t find an elevator anywhere! My stuff was scattered all over the place I was so defeated and confused as to what i was Going to do. Walking up and down 4 flights of steps with the kids while carrying my luggage? Leave the kids in the house by themselves ? Just then Rachel showed up with our keys . She saw the chaos and look of fear on my face and said I’m going to stay and help you . She stayed with my crying babies . She even held them . Turned the tv on for them . Played with them as i tried To battle the stairs with our luggage. I said I cant Do this . Idk what to do . She then called her director . I cant Remember her name I’m so sorry . But she showed up immediately. Carried my luggage up the steps . Then as a team while Rachel loved on my kids, she showed me where the hidden elevator was , and stayed until every last piece of luggage and pack and plays were inside and we were ok. I couldn’t believe it . Mind you i wasnt Like a top paying customer. I wasnt Staying in one of their 12k dollar houses . They treated me as if i was Tho . I’ll never forget it . How fast they sprung into action . Immediately helping me with the kids, my son actually cried when Rachel left and tried to chase after her . Every year Surfside realty has been good to my family which is why we return year over year but this year they out did themselves. Went above and beyond.Thank you to Rachel and the director of operations . Truly made me feel like i had A guardian angel, looking out for me and my kids after a 12 hour drive . You ladies didn’t have to do what you did . I’m sure baby sitting and carrying luggage isn’t in your job scope . You both deserve an award or at the very least recognition for what you did yesterday for me and my children . Also the condo even tho it isn’t our usual is beautiful and clean as always. Just should get a luggage dolly . Other than that zero complaints. Thank you ladies again!

We have stayed with Surfside Realty for about 15 years now. They USED to be good but the customer service has gone down at the same rate that the price has gone up. This will be our last time with Surfside realty. This week we spent 12k on a house with a private pool. When we arrived the pool was filthy (even though it was supposed to have been serviced prior to our arrival). There were bugs, leaves, dirt and sand. We called right away and we’re told someone would be sent out. We have waited two full days and STILL no one has come out. We have an autistic child with us who cannot tolerate the beach so the pool in incredibly important. I have called twice today and was told that someone would be out right away. Still NOTHING. All you can get is a call center and all they do is relay the message. We are angry and disappointed and heartbroken for our family that uses this trip to get together once per year. DO BETTER SURFSIDE. There is no excuse.On another note, housekeeping does a very basic job with cleaning. You can still feel sand beneath your feet in the house. The shared bedding does not get washed. I have spent the last two days washing the bedding. So much for vacation…..

Extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the room we’re staying at this week - company is unwilling to accommodate switching to a larger rental - no credit or refund whatsoever- current rental has proof of bugs and disorganized- which means unclean. I will start by saying we loved the house that we stayed in. It had everything we needed with lots of extra pillows, blankets, and baby items that came in handy. I would definitely stay at this house again, but not while it is managed by Surfside Realty Company. We booked the home because the pool was right beside the house and was supposed to be accessible to us, but it was not at all during our week stay there. We called the office multiple times and left messages with no return call from anyone in the office. When we called the office the people who answered the phone were very polite, but unfortunately they were not able to help us. We were told we would be compensated for the pool not being open, but we have yet to receive that. That is very poor customer service in my opinion. Maybe things will be better for the next renter.

I rent long term through surfside realty and the lady who oversees rentals is shady, racist, and way too nosy to be in control of anyone's home. It is OBVIOUS she talks to my neighbors about me and she also picks and chooses who and what she deals with as opposed to dealing with everyone as that's her job. My neighbors who are VOLUNTEER HOA seem to have my personal information which was only provided to my rental company and no one else. They constantly pick on me such as coming out their home to scream at me, getting in my face, and constantly looking through my windows and back door. I have called the police multiple times in regards to all situations after being told the realty company doesn't oversee these issues (even though they converse about me and my personal business on a daily basis). I have had the police come to my house twice in one night saying someone sent an anonymous complaint about my dogs barking even though we were eating dinner (I promise my dogs were more concerned with my Easter ham than barking LOL). My realtor contacted me over others absolutely baffling complaints such as and also has overcharged me multiple times for rent. She even went as far as having an inspection of my apartment after a noise complaint! On the other hand, when I have grown men getting in my face and people looking into my bathroom window as I'm getting out the shower, she all of a sudden has no control. It is obvious she is friendly with one or some of the neighborhood HOA volunteers and tries her best to give me a hard time when I just want a peaceful life and everyone to leave me alone. I am also pregnant! I have told Bonnie (rental service) not to contact me at all as I do not trust her and don't appreciate her harassing me. I can't wait to get out of my lease so I can move to a worry free and nondiscriminatory community where certain ages and races are not bullied by the retirement community full of a cult of nazis. If you want to live in a communist country, save the trouble of moving to Russia and just go rent at Ocean Pines II as they are not far from one another. God help anyone who rents through surfside realty and has to be put through what I have been put through.
