I just returned from a week at Camp Old Indian with my troop. It was probably the rainiest summer camp I've ever attended in 50+ years of scouting. In spite of the weather, the program continued (where possible) and staff moral was high throughout the week.Food was good with some slight exceptions. They work hard to accommodate special dietary needs. We had NO homesick issues at this camp, which says a lot.We had a girl troop in camp this week and they never expressed any facility issues and they rocked several of the troop competitions against the boys. They have a nice leader lounge and WiFi is available for purchase, but is currently expensive. There were troops in camp from Florida and Louisiana while we were there, and they seemed to have a great time and related that it was worth the drive for their scouts.

These many acres of maintained but wilderness area are a wonderful part of Greenville County. The dedication of the boy scout leaders is evident.

Worst camp my troop has been to, as a female troop. Another troop was cussing us out at the waterfront (in earshot of staff) and they did nothing. We found an ant and hair in our food. We had specified a number of aderondaks and we got one less, two of our troop had to sleep in another campsite. The aderondaks themselves were kinda badly maintained, tons of writing on the walls. The buildings were also badly maintained. If your a boy troop, might be decent. If your a girl troop, absolute no. Has gummy bear pancakes and giant chess though

Had a great time aside from one thing-someone please get a microphone for them to use during the presentations, dancing, skits, chants, blessing, directions, etc...in the grass area in front of the flags. We were sitting fairly close and could only hear about half of what was said. Even a cheap karaoke machine would make a big difference so that everyone can hear better.

Went to camp for leader training. Adirondack was not close to electrical. Swim lake was due to be drained so it was nasty. Food was ok. Bathrooms need to be single use. Overall very clean and accommodating

C.O.I. is a Scouting experience your child will never forget. Weekend camping or summer camp offer many fun activities. Cub Scout Pack 145 out of Walhalla is a great Scouting unit that provides a quality program for kids in grades K-5.

The daughter stayed here for camp. To combat covid they closed the restrooms and get this... Put in port-a-potties. There was zero running water available so no hand washing. Wild stuff considering how serious they claim to take covid
