I can't say enough wonderful things about American Upholstery. I recently had a loveseat recovered by the Bible's and I was more than happy with the result. They knew exactly what I wanted and Mrs. Bible even made me some extra pillows with the fabric I had left over. They do beautiful work and I highly recommend them.

Very bad work. It took them two tries to adequately, not properly, reupholster a sofa. Poor craftsmanship, no pride of a job well done. They do not really know how to do a waterfall skirt and other standard upholstery tasks and do not press seams. Consequently, skirts do not lay flat.

The worst upholstery job I have ever seen. It took them two tries to adequately, not properly, cover a sofa. They have no competition in the Highlands, NC area. They either do not know what they are doing or do not care. Beware.

Have no idea of the quality of their work since it (so far) has taken 3 years to redo a chair and all they have gotten done is the free-standing footstool. Every few months when I go in to inquire about it I get a deer-in-the-headlight stare and ANOTHER promise of just 3 more months. Not sure where his work ethic was instilled, not even sure if he has one, or a sense of honor. If you're not in a hurry and have at least a projected life span of 10 more years, then by all means take your work to them; especially if you would like it stored free of charge for an indefinite time.

I cannot caution anyone strongly enough to be wary of American Upholstery. My family recently left a sofa to be rebuilt and recovered. Only when we came to pick it up were we told that many of the changes we were expecting had not been done because they could not do them. A simple phone call when this was discovered would have saved everyone a lot of time and money. We were then charged $6/yd more than the price we were verbally quoted when choosing our upholstery fabric. When bringing in the sofa there was nothing they couldn't do to make us happy, we had no communication, and then we went and picked up a recovered piece that was nothing like what we were promised and expected. Making matters worse, they weren't sorry in the least, making us feel like everything was our fault, and making us pay for things that no one asked for. Do not make the same mistake we did, and find another place for your reupholstering needs.
