Aiken State Park is a beautiful and serene destination in Aiken County, known for its picturesque landscapes and recreational opportunities. Visitors appreciate the lovely stands of longleaf pine and the crystal-clear spring-fed pond, perfect for splashing around. The park features a 1.5-mile paddle trail on the Edisto River, where guests can enjoy kayaking and canoeing with rentals available. There are designated swim areas, picnic spots with ample shade, and a campground that offers privacy and well-maintained facilities. While some trails may have areas under water or not be complete loops, guests are eager to return for the peaceful scenery and outdoor activities. The friendly staff and nice amenities, including spaces for birthday parties, make Aiken State Park a hidden gem for families and nature lovers alike. However, visitors are advised to bring bug spray due to the presence of mosquitoes on the trails.
lots of mosquitos on the trail... bring bug spray! Part of the trail was under water so we could not complete the loop. I would go back though for a fresh scene to walk my dogs
