I have been using Sentinel for almost 30 years, and my family has been just as long! I purposely make the extra drive to the Radar Hill Branch with Nate working there! Not only has he always been on the ball of my personal account, but my business account! He has resolved issues with other banks in a timely manner when he didn’t have to! Everytime I go on he always has a smiling face and is easy to work with

I've been a member for over a decade now and I enjoy my membership here until today. I know how serious being professional at a credit union is , so it was shocking to me how bad my husband was treated today. I'm mortified on how he was treated. My family lives in Box Elder. My mom works at the credit union in Box Elder. It's convenient for us to go to the closest one, so we don't have to drive into town especially since he's handicaped and I'm chronicly ill. We do have knowledge of the rules not having my mom as our teller. What we didn't know was we were supposed to go to go to a whole different Credit Union building when my mom working. We do try to not go there to bother my mom while shes working, but today we needed a money order due to an emergency situation. She had to ask for help from a man name Nate. This is my complaint: After my mom asked for help, Nate yelled at my them from his own office. He did not leave his office but stayed inside there. He didnt start off nicely, but was a complete jerk from the start. Him saying " if my mother- in- law worked here, I would go somewhere else". Just insensitive remarks. He also yelled out more that he can refuse service because his boss said he could. I doubt his boss told him to be aggressive towards a member though. Nate could've got out from his office and informed him and my mom professionally that he will need to use another credit union due to a family member that is working there today. That's it!We did ended up calling & reporting to Cody Volker. Cody wasn't much of a big help and didnt calm situation with my husband. He told him that he would talk with Nate, but seemed to defend Nate more so than apologizing for his unprofessional matter. It felt like he was more concerned with what my husband did (which was nothing) than his coworker. After getting off the phone with Cody we didn't feel better, but worse. A feeling of nothing is going to happen and just deal with being disrespected type of feeling.. All anyone had to do was tell him nicely once that we needed to go to another building when my mom is at work. Not one warning was made. Instead my husband was humiliated by Nate and nothing resolved from Cody Volker.I want a apology towards my husband and my mom. No one deserves that kind of embarrassment especially when its supposed to safe professional environment.Thank you for your time

Worst bank ever. Fees on top of fees and they don't care about the customer. They are just as money hungry as a big bank. Don't fall for the "credit union" part of the name. I've lost so much money in overdraft fees due to the bank app messing up or just negligence. Save yourself the money and trouble. They will also frequently claim they "tried to call you" to fix a mobile deposit issue even though you have no missed calls or voicemails. Worst. Bank. Ever.

The management and member service is phenomenal! I always feel appreciated and valued as soon as I walk in the door or whenever I call in! Highly recommended!

I love the branch on Radar Hill Rd. I like the experience of the people know who I am. It's the small town bank feeling. I hope you aren't thinking about closing it. I live in Box Elder and enjoy the fact that I don't have thho go into Rapid City to do my banking when I need to. It's a great place to bank and I have been with them since they merged with Telco.

This Credit Union is awesome! They know me by name, not by number. I can get my banking done quickly without having to waste time filling out slips of papers (deposit, etc.). I encourage everyone I know that is looking for a bank or credit union to go to Sentinel. They take care of me and my family. They are like family to me. I cannot praise them enough.

Very low quality, especially considering this is a credit union not a bank. They really have no interest in their members, only their employees and their "policies" no matter how little they make sense. If you join, be prepared for the random pull of your credit every once and a while (and it's a hard pull not a soft pull) I had a $50 line of credit that they were firm that they needed a hard pull to keep open periodically (and even told me every bank does this, which, no, that would only be sentinel, that's why the soft pull was invented.....). Even though I hadn't use the line since 2000. The irony of this policy is it degrades both the credit quality of their members, and hence their own loan portfolio. I did not sign up for sentinel, a credit union I was with merged with them, and boy the difference is shocking how poorly sentinel cares about their members. If you are the black hills area, bhfcu is a much better option. If you are Air Force, check out air academy federal credit union or ent federal credit union. They listen to their members, work for their members, and have a much better experience.
