whoever the manager in Belle Fourche is, might want to get your butt to the store! Your employees are cranky, coolers empty, trashes overflowing, etc. etc.

We made sure to stop here before our tank was on empty! Big D Oil in Custer, South Dakota sells Sinclair gasoline. Gas price was fair for the area, and really cheap compared to the prices we are used to in California. Convenience store was decent size. Good stop to make in Custer, SD.

At the Laramie, Wyoming location exit 311 off I-80. Have to say one of the dirtiest places i have ever been to especially with the virus going around that is not a good. Stopped for fuel, take a shower and for the night. I had i not stopped and had a good parking spot i would have moved to one of the other truck stops. The shower had not been cleaned from the previous person using it as there was garbage in the bottom of the shower and an empty shampoo bottle in the shower. The bottom of the shower floor looks like it is caked in dirt. Thank god i brought in shower shoes it made me feel a bit more comfortable. When i confronted the manager on duty his response was “sorry we are short handed right now” so being short handed they are not going to clean. The toilets looks like they have not been wiped down for weeks. There were noticeable amounts of dirt on the back of the toilet in the men’s bathroom. I will not be back for another shower that is for sure. And thank god i brought my own towel as they had no clean towels. I guess because they are short handed is why!!

With my car, I was able to calculate it almost perfectly- from my apt to Mt Rushmore, I could make it on a tank, and with 20 miles to spare. Thankfully, those 20 miles were able to get me back to the town of Custer, probably the most bustling city I saw during my 364 mile trip to MORU.With that being said, you may want to do your research before you go, since towns are few and far between- thankfully I didn't run out of gas, especially where banjo music plays (hell, that was my first time in SD and I didn't want to make it my last known location). There are a few gas stations scattered around the town of Custer, but you can tell, the closer to the action, the more crowded they are- especially with RVs. Thankfully, I went a little out of the way (when I say a little, I mean 2 blocks past where I needed to go), and ended up at this Sinclair. The store looked like it was from the 70's (hell yea), but I didn't go inside. I did see an older lady behind the counter (I am pretty sure she had a minimum of a shotgun behind the register), and I didn't want any trouble, so I just filled up, and peaced out.The octane is back to normal here (87/89/93 compared to the lower numbers in CO), and the windshield wipers were actually filled with fluid, that was nice. The parking lot is big enough for rendezvous or family reunions, but again, I cannot comment on what was inside. My new choice for gas in the town of Custer.

Usually a good place to get gas but the old lady who works there is very rude and when I asked to speak to a manager she refused. Terrible customer service. Common cents is only about 30 yards away and at least there you’re treated with respect.

I usually go here for gas because they are normally trustworthy with good customer service. However, recently I went to Big D for gas and, as usual, went to fill it with the cheapest gas (I have an old car). Even though I pushed the button on the far left, it filled my tank with the Premier gas. I got only 6 gallons for $20. When I asked the attendant why my gas was so expensive, he informed me that I had filled my tank with premier. I told him that I had pressed the button on the far left, but he just kept disregarding what I said. He didn't discount my gas or offer to help resolve the problem in any way. I'm not sure I'll be going back there. That's a cheap way to get money from people. I expect to get the gas that I want in my tank and to pay the price that it says.
