Not a bad gas station. I have a 2010 ford f150 with 5.4 flex fuel engine, for no reason this town sell doesn't unleaded 88 or E15 for cars/truck made in 2001-later years and for flex fuel vehicles as well. I hope somedays either this gas or next one over will start selling unleaded 88. Unleaded 88 is 0.10 to 0.15 cent cheaper than regular 87 unleaded, I put unleaded 88 twice when I went to sioux falls twice and got way better gas mileage in my truck. Saves me little more money on gas
Please someone sell unleaded 88 gas

Super rude. All I wanted was a half a cup of ice. They wanted to charge me over $3. When I questioned it I was told (in a very nasty voice) “it is posted!!!” I didn’t notice their faded sign - but that still didn’t warrant the rudeness. I promptly said I didn’t want it then and she snatched it and stomped away… I know this is a tourist town with thousands through a day, but that still doesn’t mean customer service is out the window.

We made sure to stop here before our tank was on empty! Big D Oil in Custer, South Dakota sells Sinclair gasoline. Gas price was fair for the area, and really cheap compared to the prices we are used to in California. Convenience store was decent size. Good stop to make in Custer, SD.

With my car, I was able to calculate it almost perfectly- from my apt to Mt Rushmore, I could make it on a tank, and with 20 miles to spare. Thankfully, those 20 miles were able to get me back to the town of Custer, probably the most bustling city I saw during my 364 mile trip to MORU. With that being said, you may want to do your research before you go, since towns are few and far between- thankfully I didn't run out of gas, especially where banjo music plays (hell, that was my first time in SD and I didn't want to make it my last known location). There are a few gas stations scattered around the town of Custer, but you can tell, the closer to the action, the more crowded they are- especially with RVs. Thankfully, I went a little out of the way (when I say a little, I mean 2 blocks past where I needed to go), and ended up at this Sinclair. The store looked like it was from the 70's (hell yea), but I didn't go inside. I did see an older lady behind the counter (I am pretty sure she had a minimum of a shotgun behind the register), and I didn't want any trouble, so I just filled up, and peaced out. The octane is back to normal here (87/89/93 compared to the lower numbers in CO), and the windshield wipers were actually filled with fluid, that was nice. The parking lot is big enough for rendezvous or family reunions, but again, I cannot comment on what was inside. My new choice for gas in the town of Custer.

Gas is cheap with cash. False advertising.

Do not go to this gas station! We pulled in because their gas was cheaper when paying with cash. We went in to prepay because all stations that we stop at require prepay for cash. We were not given the discount because we were supposed to pump then pay. When questioned, we were told there was a sign on the pump explaining that but there was no sign. Why wasn't that explained to us when we went in to prepay with cash? I feel like it could have been made right but it wasn't. We will not be using Sinclair again.
