If you want a dining experience, you got it. Upon my request and to my surprise the Chef came to my table and explained how he makes his hollandaise sauce. Class act and classy place!!

With all due respect to South Dakota, Skogen would do well in any major city in the US. The food, service, attention to detail, and ambiance are all just right. If you love good food, wine, and desserts (and who doesn’t?) you owe it to yourself to make a reservation at Skogen! Lastly, if there’s one or two people in your party, I highly suggest asking for the counter facing the kitchen, you get to see all the amazing dishes being prepared and it’s fun to chat with the kitchen staff along the way.

Go here to treat yourself, and you'll leave with the biggest smile on your face! Always top rated experience and food. Chef Joseph creates the perfect pairings in each dish. The sauce is usually the best part of every dish for me. The service is unmatched. They go above and beyond and truly make this the best fine dining experience. So many small details that take this place to the next level. Chris was our waitor the last couple of times, and he's top-notch.P.s. if they have truffles available, get them! I dislike truffle oil, but fresh truffles are amazing!

There truly isn't a better restaurant. Comfortable service and Michelin needs to come through and just hand over the star.

Treated a girlfriend to her first experience at Skogen, went for the restaurant week menu, and it didn’t disappoint!!! The cosy atmosphere made it easy to make friends with other customers and make the night even more entertaining. Staff are very attentive!!!!

My husband and I have been wanting to experience Skogen for years, unfortunately it hadn’t ever worked out due to having to travel. Thankfully we finally made it and had a great dinner and service! Worth the drive and wait!

I bring guests here often, and they are always impressed. Why? Every moment, each recipe, all presentations and hospitality are well thought out. The food is excellent. There is a shortage of high quality, thoughtful food in the Black Hills unless you only eat Bison. This is a food paradise and can be visited for any special occasion. When they ask if you saved room for desert, the answer is always yes. It’s a lie worth telling. Way to go Skogen!

Top notch dining selections that are simply exceptional. Expanding everyone's palet to explore the robust flavor of originality. Loved every bit of staff and loved every bite.

Skogen was an amazing dining experience for my mom and me. We had Mark as our server and he was very helpful, patient, and charismatic. We were offered to sit outside on the heated covered patio area (we dined in December). It was very warm and quiet. The inside dining area was very busy and loud. We were very happy on the patio outside even though we originally booked a reservation inside. It was so busy in December that I can only imagine reservations are needed all year. We both had the arugula salad which was large and delicious. I had the vegetarian option and Mark offered to have a different vegetarian dish prepared if I wasn’t happy with the menu option. My mom had the filet and she was over the moon happy. We thought both portions were bigger than we expected. The butter cake is a must have. One of the best desserts I have ever had. I cannot wait to return in the summer and try their seasonal offerings again!

We came because of the reviews. The lobster steam buns were amazing, but there was not a lot of lobster in them for the price. Our waiter was super nice and service was great! The pumpkin ravioli was lukewarm and the color of the sauce was unappealing. The whole branzino was good, but the sauce overwhelmed the fish. The filet was cooked perfectly and the sauce was good. The butter cake was the best part of the meal! I would return just for that!! The tables are so close together . Overall the food was pretty good, the prices were too much, and the portions are too small.Wheelchair accessibility: It would be hard to get in and out of the doors.

I've traveled the globe for 30 years. This place is, without a doubt, the worst in terms of service. At 4 PM, we made a reservation for 5:45. It was the off season and their reservation list was wide open. When we showed up, they wanted us to sit at the overflow 2 "bar" seats where our only view was the dirty kitchen. We asked for nicer seats and the hostess gave us such the pretentious "How dare you question the gift we bestow upon you, allowing you to dine in our elite reataurant" attitude. She was a character straight out of a movie, shunning those who question her grace. She reluctantly put us in better seats. We looked at the menu and saw only 1 vegetarian dish. Since it has mushrooms (which we don't like), we decided to leave and try a different restaurant. The hostess, the waiter and the staff all gave us the eye roll and gaze of superior disdain as we walked our way out, and then charged us $40 for NOT dining there (online reservation through Resy). We never gave them any attitude. We were just normal patrons looking for a romantic night out in the quiet town. Nothing romantic about this restaurant. It's a cramped shed in the parking lot of a gas station.I think they need a little humble pie on their menu.
