Zero stars. I would have stayed somewhere else had I known. Staff is rude, non ADA compliant. I offered up my service animal paperwork at check in. Then they decided to charge a cleaning fee for a pet after check out, for a service animal. Keep the money. Apparently your property needs it more than we do. You'll go out of business with these poor practices... if staff still has jobs after home office gets a lawsuit.

We stay at Comforts often. The only thing I wish was that they had better ventilation in their pool areas. The strong smell of chlorine always keeps me out of the pool. Maybe they should switch to salt water systems.

Room was great. Bathtub needs a place to set supplies & floor of tub was extremely slippery. Swimming pool water was so cold the kids could not even enjoy it.
Rooms: We had a 2 room suite which was nice.
Nearby activities: Close to 1880 train. If you are able to walk, it’s within walking distance to several things in Hill City.

Very clean and well run motel. We have stayed here twice for multiple days and have never been disappointed. Good location to use when visiting the Black Hills.

We stayed at this location for six nights in July 2024. Our room was nice and clean. We had a suite with a couch and chair which was nice for the length of the stay. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
The housekeeping staff came in daily to make the bed and refresh the towels. One day, we were still there when they stopped by--we invited them in--and they took the used towels, placed clean ones and emptied the trash, but did not make the bed or come back to do so after we left for the day. Another day, we returned and housekeeping had been and done all these things, BUT left wet towels still hanging in the bathroom. Additionally, they never replaced the cups or tea in the room.
We did see a fungus growing in the corner of the 3rd floor ice dispensing room--apparently that area is not cleaned often.
The place was packed everyday and the breakfast area was rarely able to accommodate everyone. People spilled over into the living area each morning. We noticed that the breakfast changes every other day--but there are just 2 breakfasts--1 eggs and sausage; 2 cheese omelets and sausage. Everyday there were waffles, muffins, bread and yogurt. The variety of the main course was lacking for those staying more than two days. Strangely, there were no bagels and cream cheese.
The outdoor seating area was nice as long as no smokers were there. This area, outside the pool, was labeled as the designated smoking area. However, people tended to smoke outdoors anywhere they felt like.
Certainly, some improvements could be made and a little more attention to detail could be added. But, all in all we were pleased with the location and accommodations.

NEVER AGAIN!!! PLEASE READ!! Save your money & go somewhere else. My family & I checked into this hotel on July 15th 2024. Our bed had 2 bedbugs on it. Husband contacted the desk clerk, and he came to our room. Desk clerk CONFIRMED IT WAS BED BUGS. We were asked if we wanted to move into a room down the hall. We went inside to check out the room first. Husband lifted up the mattress, and there were dead bed bugs! Asked the clerk if he could help us find a different hotel, and he said there is a Best Western down the street. Not very helpful. Packed our stuff as soon as we could. Found a different hotel, all while dealing with a crabby kid. Husband contacted the manager about this matter. Manager lady called him tonight & basically denied that our room had bed bugs. Said that they were "just bugs from the grass" also stated that she had our room checked out the next day, and it wasn't bed bugs. My husband has multiple pics, and a video of the bugs. Not very classy for the manager to be arguing with my husband about this over the phone. We told her that we expect compensation for everything we had to throw in the garbage. She was 0 help, and probably wanted to get back to playing on her phone. This hotel is covering this up, and denying that they have bed bugs ( 3rd floor to be exact) I'm fairly certian that they had housekeeping come in & just throw around some crappy cleaning products & called it good. Comfort Inn & Suites, you outta be ashamed of yourself. Absolutely disgusting!!

If I could leave zero stars I would!!! This place is infested with bed bugs. First, we found them in our original room, and then they offered to move us to a different room, and upon inspecting that room before we moved our stuff in it, there was bed bugs between the mattress and box spring. The front desk attendant even confirmed it right in front of me and our party on both occasions. So upon that, we had to move to a different motel in a different town at midnight with a 2-year-old in the Black Hills. Ruined the whole vacation!! I even have pictures and video of the bed bugs and later when I finally got ahold of the manager for compensation, all she could say was "No we had our experts look and those are just insects from the grass" Like that's any better! Worst place ever! it should be shut down and burned!

My extended family and I rented 3 rooms for the week of 7-15 through 7-19 at the Hill City, SD Comfort Inn and suites. All 3 rooms were on the third floor. After unpacking and going to dinner, my sister and brother-in-law returned to find 2 live bedbugs in their room. Management was immediately notified. Manager confirmed that the bugs were bedbugs. He offered a different room a few doors down, and upon checking that room, my sister and brother-in-law found numerous dead bedbugs underneath the mattress. We decided to pack up and leave. Luckily, we found clean rooms 1/2 hour away that were able to take us that night. After packing, driving, unpacking again, we finally got settled in around 1 am. Not fun-especially with kids!
