Hill City Hardware is a well-stocked store with a large variety of items, from hardware and housewares to sporting goods and hunting licenses. The people are phenomenal, helpful, and generous, going out of their way to assist customers. The team is very helpful and will assist in a reasonable amount of time. Prices are very reasonable, competitively priced, and what they should be, without significant markups. It is an excellent place that has most everything you need, making it a great local alternative to driving to a larger city.
I had an emergency hardware purchase while on vacation and stopped in at Hill City Hardware. The woman at the register knew exactly where the item was that I needed and I was in and out within 5 minutes. In Illinois no one working the registers ever know where things are!! At least in the suburban Chicago area.
