Lovely hotel close to Keystone but secluded in nature. The room was great but, we thought it was odd there was only the deadbolt and not a secondary lock on the door. However you have to use a key card to get into the hallway so that helps with security.
We enjoyed the breakfast options. Staff were all friendly.
It was a wonderful stay.

This is our second stay here for our Sturgis trip! Breakfast is free and fantastic but ALSO they have a great pub for evening eats. Traffic is is manageable and not super far from every other town.

We start during Sturgis. It's right in keystone, but you feel like you're in the woods. The staff is always amazing, rooms are always clean. View of Mount Rushmore is great! Highly recommend this place!

We took a grandson on an intergenerational tour of the South Dakota area arround Mt. Rushmore. This is where they choose to use as their hub. We got free breakfast, and good meals include with our tour. Some of the rooms have a partical review of Mt Rushmore.

A beautiful setting to rest after a busy day of sightseeing! Make sure to request a monument view as you can see the profiles of George and Tom. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony taking in the scenary. Nice, clean room. Breakfast is your typical selection and is located in a separate but close building on the property. Very close to Keystone main street. They offer complimentary hot cocoa, tea, and coffee throughout the day.

The location is close to Mount Rushmore yet tucked in a scenic wooded area. The rooms were adequate and beds comfortable. The free breakfast had everything you need for a good start to your day. We will definitely come back.

Impressive building and grounds at a great location for your Mt. Rushmore and Black Forest area visit.
I guess with COVID being over and employees returning to work the K bar S Loge didn’t get the memo on returning to full room service or it’s just a bottom line thing?

There are so many great things to say about the K Bar S. We were welcomed by a lovely staff member. She gave us rooms that were not only handy to the lobby and parking, she also explained that we could see the profile of George Washington at Mount Rushmore out our deck. The rooms were clean nice and had a deck with two chairs and a table. We ate a delicious complimentary breakfast both days with a. a variety of hot food and fruit and cold cereal and toast. We went on walks in the area on the railroad tracks and around the property. It was peaceful and away from the hubbub half a mile away in Keystone. The Old Hill City Road is a treat--10 miles and you cross 14 train tracks of the 1880 train.
