It is a very interesting bit of history. It presents a sobering picture of how hard life probably was for the first pioneers in the territory. I can see why some of the pioneer women went crazy in those sod houses.

The most unexpectedly worthwhile stop with kids while seeing the Badlands! We got a snippet of history, toured the homestead, and got to see prairie dogs up CLOSE. The gift shop was darling, the grounds were well maintained, and the owners were kind and hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed the stop and would 100% visit again!
