Deserves a zero, honestly. Every portion of purchasing a car from Wegner was awful. I'm the easiest customer one will find. I came with a finance companypretty much check in hand and a car already picked out. I never attempted to haggle the price or anything. While in the office, the salesmen was buying some sort of raffling tickets. literally in the middle of me purchasing a vehicle. Not professional at all. Then the wrong email was placed on my documents, by the salesmen who stated he got that email from "online". Once I corrected him, he still never changed it. On-star was never set up, as it should have been, by a Wegner associate. I purchased the car 10/25 and had to call for over two months before a tax reimbursement check would be mailed to me. They finally mailed it out 12/29. The paper tag expired 12/9, so of course I already had paid the taxes and registered the vehicle. The check they sent was made out to the treasurer, so I'm unable to cash it. When I called and told the associate about it, I was told I needed to prove that I paid the taxes and bring them their check back. So because their associates was two months late doing her job, I'm supposed to waste time and money righting her wrongs. GOT IT!

I tried to get information on the vehicle, both through email and through their online chat. The email response was canned and didn't answer my question. The chat was even worse, the lady did not answer my question and just stopped responding when I asked for a Carfax.

We had an amazing experience on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, while other auto shops turned us away. We don't live in the Pierre area, but for those who do, I highly recommend Wegner Auto and its service department for the quality service and care they provide, as if it were done for their own family.

Long waits and no decent reading materials. Buy some mags besides car and driver, like National Geographic. Tortuous wait but they are professional and courteous.

We've been dealing with automobile people since the 1970s and this is the best we've ever been treated. We are 1800 miles from home had the front window smashed by a duck on the interstate and they fixed it in the same day. If the car sales people are anywhere near as nice as the auto repair people I'd buy a car here every time I would buy a new car. Treated like kings even though we were out of state. Ed know everything about the body shop and the local commerce

Being a recent college graduate and transplant to Pierre, it was necessary for me to purchase a car on my own for the first time. On February 28th, 2014, I purchased a 2001 Saturn L300 with 87k miles for $4837 from Wegner. The following is a brief synopsis of the problems I have had not only with the car but the dealership and its questionable business ethics as a whole. I feel violated and angry that I was screwed over so thoroughly by Wegner. The car had a documented issue from the previous owner when Wegner acquired the car. The head gasket issue was identified by a mechanic at Beck Motors when the car was under the previous owner. I have a physical copy of the invoice that backs this up as a 'known issue'. The problem was overlooked and not disclosed prior to the sale. It is the dealer's responsibility to inspect every car they sell for major issues like this and to deal with them appropriately before the car is sold. It is unacceptable to me that a dealer missed such a major issue- intentional or not, both reveal their intentions as unprofessional, greasy, and predatory, pushing lemons they haven't bothered to properly inspect on the population. The head gasket problem was not fixed as per an agreement reached by a manager, Don, and me when the problem was first dealt with in April. It was claimed by Wegner's Service Department after repairs had been completed that the head gasket was not the problem, but something else. Because of this improper diagnosis, the car's head gasket problem has recently resurfaced due to it not being properly dealt with in April. Repairs to this car to fix the known issue are worth more than the car itself, rendering an out-of-pocket payment by me financially unwise and impracticable. I am stuck making payments on a car that was already at death's door when I bought it, and currently only has salvage value. As a new resident to Pierre most of my time here has been filled with stress and anxiety over this situation. Also as a recent college grad and given my starting salary, my options here are limited by my financial capabilities. I will not risk purchasing another car from Wegner since this has been my experience so far. Therefore, because the Saturn was sold to me with a major known issue that was overlooked, and subsequent agreed upon repair work done by Wegner after I purchased it has failed to fix said issue, I expected Wegner to honor my request, which is that I receive a full refund of the purchase price of the car, to which I would reserve the right to spend at any dealership deserving of my business. This has proved unsuccessful and I've taken it upon myself to share my downright rotten experience with Wegner so others won't experience this.
