We have brought a few different animals here in the past and have had great experiences. From major surgery on a mule colt, to ivermectin for a squirrel. So when I moved back to Burke with my dog i knew I wanted to come here. Took one star off for the fact I called less than two minutes after I left the vet dropping him off to say make sure his harness is off, as he will chew it. I was told that person would let them know. I get back, pay for the services, and then am informed “he chewed his harness up. we don’t have that brand here. sorry.” Very frustrating as i specifically called before i even made it to the highway, but more frustrating i was told after the fact with an oh well attitude.

Called this clinic to inquire about cremation services for my 14 year old dog that passed away unexpectedly while I was out of town at my grandma's funeral. My husband had to call me in the middle of the night to tell me. Talk about a double whammy of grief. I was hoping this clinic would offer cremation services; I have not been a client here as I live closer to Lake Andes but in the past I knew they offered a far more comprehensive line of services so I figured if any clinic in Platte did cremation, they would be the ones who would.I regret even contacting this place. The receptionist who answered the phone had a very unpleasant manner of speaking with me in general. Sounded annoyed that I was calling her and asking about this service. Rudely asking for details, in a annoyed tone of voice- her first question was worded something to the effects of "so what exactly is going on? What died?" Even though I am certain I led the call with "my dog passed away last night". It's not a dead houseplant, lady, this is a member of the family of 14 years, let's show a little sensitivity. I've waited several days before posting this review to make sure I wasn't just reacting due to being emotional the day I called, but more than 5 days later I am still quite upset by the way I was treated so here we are.Turns out they don't do cremation themselves, but they can provide transportation to the clinic in Plankinton that does cremation. Which is fine, but she just sounded so callous and short with me as she provided me with that information, like I was asking about having a wart removed from a horse's butt instead of grieving the loss of a beloved dog. And she was unable to even tell me what day I would be able to drop off the body because apparently it's only a weekly delivery to Plankinton, which she told me after a series of exasperated sighs. All things that would have been fine otherwise, if they had been delivered without the snarky attitude.Based on the rude and uncaring manner of the woman who answered the phone, I will not be taking my dog there for cremation nor will I ever patronize them in the future. I decided to go out of my way to the Wagner clinic which is further from my home but they have kind employees that treat people - even those who aren't regular clients- with kindness and care. Only reason I am giving 2 stars to this clinic is because I know they offer a lot of services many other small town vets don't offer & i am sure the doctors and other staff are fine, but moving forward I will be sure to find literally anywhere else to bring my 5 dogs if they need some type of specialist services. A place that employs a receptionist who can't be kind to a caller grieving the loss of a pet doesn't deserve to get my business.

We were on a hunting trip, visiting from California. My English pointer sustained a gash while pheasant hunting. Dr. Alberda and the staff took great care of her. They repaired the wound and got us back on the road in a couple hours. The price was very reasonable. My thanks and appreciation to the clinic and staff.

This has been absolutely the best experience I have had taking my dogs to a vet. They treated my dog and myself with such kindness.

I got the pleasure to meet Dr. Jay the day my horse, Jake had a terrible accident. I have always heard great things about the Doctor and was told by many, "If you have horses, you will want Dr. Jay, he is the best out there!"Never did I know how much these words rang truth until that very day. In a panic and after several phone calls to other Veterinarians, who either was out working cattle or didn't have the time, my husband said I am going to try and make one more phone call, it's a long shot but I am going to try. The words from my husband, "Honey, there's no way, I just know Dr. Jay will be busy, he's the best and all I can do it try." And my husband ended our phone call and minutes later called me back and said, Dr. Jay was on the way!!I was in disbelief but very thankful!! He arrived and every step of the way helped Jake from that moment on for days and weeks to follow, Dr. Jay was there. He was a man of his word!! Which now days are hard to find. He was honest, he was realistic and most of all he was consistent!!I now take my small animals to him and Lord knows we have ALOT!! His staff is welcoming and polite. He's facility is clean and very well kept!! He's prices are more than fair, but seriously how can you put a price on "THE BEST"!!I just hope he truly knows how thankful I was that day and the days to follow for him. Given the unfortunate circumstance that day I was blessed to have the opportunity for my path to cross the path of a very truly talented and trustworthy Veterinarian, called Dr. Jay!!!

While on a SD pheasant hunt, my dog put a 3 inch long gash on his belly from a barbed wire fence. CDAC answered the call on a Sunday afternoon and were willing to open outside their normal hours. I arrived and were welcomed into the clinic. I left 35 minutes later with a dog and 9 staples to close the wound. I would highly recommend this clinic for you hunting dog.

On Saturday of opening weekend of pheasant season, our dog cut her leg. We called and they were willing to stitch her up outside of business hours and were very helpful. It’s great to have reliable and effective service in an emergency situation. Very professional and great service! Highly recommend.
