I live in another state and use the shared branching. Long story short.. I paid for some things with my PayPal or Venmo and it came out of my account and I didn’t realize before it was too late… they charged me more in over draft fees thank even charged out of my account. I asked them to help and they said they could and never got back to me until they said it was “too late” I have banked with them since I was 16 and never had an issue. The over draft fees are ridiculous and they have mad it really hard to pay off my debt because I can’t even get get into my shared branching account anymore. I am pregnant and have ran down to the shared bank so many times just to be turned away, unable to pay, stuck with 500$ of over draft fees and on top of it, I’m pregnant. They said they would call me back and never did. I literally have wasted time, money and gas just trying to pay them back when they make millions and I’m stressed about 500$

Tried ATM at the bank and service was down tried again still could not complete withdrawal so had to go to non BHFCU ATM and they refused to refund the fees saying I should have gone to another branch location. Who in the right mind would drive all the way to another branch location and try to withdraw money after two unsuccessful attempts at one location. Doesn't the bank think it's quite plausible that I figured their ATM service was down. Been a member for over ten years and refuse to refund $1.50 shameful service.

I worked with Candice and it was sadly a very bad experience. I was going to get a VA, first time home loan through BHFCU and the experience was great until we put in an offer. From there we had very minimal communication and when we did get an email, she would not answer our questions and just asked us to be patient with her. She told us multiple times that she would call and we never heard from her. My realtor got only 1 call and a couple emails from her during the month and some change that we worked with her. She told us that we could not close in 30 days because the appraisal would take longer than that, but the appraisal came back in 5 days after it was ordered. The experience was so bad that we went with a different lender for the same exact house and from re applying to closing it was 2 weeks. When we switched to them I heard more from her in the 20 min phone call complaining about her team and the VA than I did the whole time working with her. It was very disappointing as I love working with BHFCU. I definitely recommend not working with her and I never will go to BHFCU for a mortgage in the future.

In November of 2021 BHFCU "barred" me from using their ITM services and from going inside their physical locations. Since then I have used the ITM numerous times. Literally every two weeks to cash payroll checks. I also went into their physical locations to exchange money and cash in coins. Fast forward to the week of May 15th, 2023. BHFCU tries to send me certified letter. I refuse. When I spoke to an employee they informed me that they would take legal action if I continued to use their services. Ya know, the services my member provides. BHFCU literally called me to tell me that they weren't doing their jobs properly and their little "ban" was absolutely ineffective. This is how they treat their members. They threaten legal action for using their services. Avoid these mouth breathers at all costs. Oh and they wanted $2k down on a $6k car loan even though I've banked with them for years without EVER missing a car payment. They care more about your credit score and literally nothing else. BHFCU is a corrupt big bank masquerading as a credit union.

I am beyond shocked at how terrible the service from BHFCU has been in the last year I’ve had two incredibly frustrating incidents with them but this was the biggest yet I called to report my credit card stolen from my wife’s purse and the idiot At the after hours line closed my debit card not my credit card I had to later call again to get that card blocked and they’re closed until Tuesday. It’s crazy how this is my 2nd time being burned by there inability to understand basic communication

I ordered a replacement card 15 business days ago. When I called a week ago concerned that it might have been stolen in the mail, they said it takes a while wait another week. Meanwhile, I called Citi, opened a new account and received my cards for them today. That whole process took 5 business days. I've been with BHFCU for about 15 years. I don't know why I put up with this. What if I had no other way to access my funds without that card I'm waiting on? I'd be so upset.

Their FEES are ridiculous! As a Credit Union, you would think they would be 'for their members' as most Credit Unions are. Nope! They will hit you fee's left and right - any chance they can get; without giving you a chance to avoid them first. Their Customer Service is half there; most are unfriendly with a select few whom are friendly human beings. Don't even think about getting a minor loan with them. You could have an 800 credit score and they'll still tell you to kick rocks. I am permanently closing this account and done with this 'credit Union'.

I am new in town. I was in last week to take care of some.business with my landlord that this credit union handles. I was pleasant, and cheerful. One of the tellers who helped me, a young woman, was really rude to me. Her attitude was all off and she never made eye contact with me while talking to me.. She acted like I was bothering her. I really don't want to go back there but I have to. Surely the credit union can get someone who can at least be polite to customers. If it happens again, I will file a complaint with the manager while I am there. Lastly, I will not open an account here, ever!!!

I have been a member with this bank for over 30 years. My husband and I both have accounts here. We will be taking our money out and going to another bank. Do not have a joint account with someone that might overdraw themselves on another account because the bank will take the money. It doesn't matter if they are a kid. The bank shouldn't let them overdraw in the first place.

I just moved to Rapid city and was planning on opening an account here the beginning of next month. I went in to get a roll of quarters and they wouldn't do it. I will open my new account in a credit union that will. If they are that nasty about change, I won't deal with them.

Today I stopped by after work to deposit money. I was greeted rudely and abruptly. I've been coming here for a long time and I've always had a wonderful service but today was not the case. Google says says that on Saturdays the drive thru is open until 1:00 p.m.. I pulled in to the drive-through at 12:20 p.m.. Immediately the teller came on the screen saying " we are closed! you were not in line at noon and we have been trying to get out of here for 25 minutes you need to go use the machines on the side" I said "oh I'm sorry I didnt know. Google says 1pm" and she repeated herself "you can go use the machine"The online teller from the machine was super polite and saved the day.

3$ as a member to buy a money order that costs .89 cents at the store, told me they couldn't give me a secured loan for a car A SECURED LOAN meaning I pay them interest on my own money, told me if I close my account I could still be subject to overdraft fees, overdraft fees on a closed account!
