Absolute nightmare. Complete incompetence at all levels. Ran into some hardships and missed a few payments on a vehicle loan, and set up a “repayment plan” with a financial officer where I would make 1.5x the regular payment until I was caught back up. Instead of applying these payments to principle and interest, the tellers were applying the entire thing only to interest, resulting in me “not making a payment” for one specific month, despite making multiple, repeated and larger-than-required payments as apparently it doesn’t count if nothing goes to the principle, and it was all being put towards interest instead, without me knowing. After explaining this to countless people who called demanding the payment and apparently completely disregarding the fact there was a repayment plan in place, my vehicle was repossessed right as I was only $67 away from being completely caught up to date. Rather than screw around anymore, I paid the loan off in full and collected the vehicle. While doing this, they couldn’t even figure out the loan payoff without running into issues, and tried to charge me an extra $550 because the repossession fee as well as accrued interest was too difficult of math for a teller and a banker to figure out without me, an average Joe with no banking experience, explaining it to them and walking them, the professionals, through the math of how interest accrual works. Really makes me wonder how much other stuff was done wrong, especially since even according to the monthly statements they sent me, I’ve got $1,500 worth of payments unaccounted for.

Normally everyone there would get 5 stars! Ive done shared branch banking for 10 years here with no problems. Thats good, but today i had my first ever problem depositing a check. I was told my bank put the check on hold, so i called and all they needed was a picture of the check. I first spoke with a diana, or iana, and was met with a rude, condescending demeanor. She told me my bank should have that check, even though i tried telling her multiple times i was physically at highmark for the deposit not 10 minutes prior. After repeating myself multiple times she agreed to listen. She told me i would get an e mail with a picture of my check, an hour later nothing. It was lunch, so i went inside the branch to get a real life persons help. It seemed like nobody knew what i was talking about, as if my information was tossed aside. I was being helped by the wonderful, kind and helpful receptionist who actually helped me. As i was talking to her, a teller who i wasnt even talking to blurted out that i needed to get ahold of my bank. She had no idea what was going on but butted in anyway. Once i told her what i needed she simply ignored me and didnt offer to help. There to blab my situation to the public, but not there to help. Eventually the wonderful receptionist got me the picture i needed, i wish i remembered her name because she was the best part of my experience. It started with an S, thats all i remember. I will no longer be a patron though because of this experience.

I called and spoke with Ashley about a transfer issue I was having between credit unions, and she very kindly assisted me. Not only was she very kind, she was also very efficient. I love working with this credit union, and very happy we switched several years ago.

I had an amazing experience with Crystal and Kati. The process to get a HELOC for my home was so simple and they answered all my questions right away. I have worked with other credit unions in the past but I would rate Highmark as the best and easiest to deal with. Thanks ladies!

Mariah, Crystal and Kati make an outstanding team. They are expeditious and resourceful when helping members with any issue. They are one of the most professional bankers I have dealt with. We have two vehicles and a personal loan through Highmark and have been blown away by the care and service we have received from them. Even though we fell on hard times, they’ve continued to work with us to avoid repossession. I have never had a better experience with any other finance company. I highly recommend Highmark for anybody looking for a loan.

I thought this bank was amazing until the program I worked for depleted their funds and I had to transfer out to another department where the pay is different. I no longer get the same treatment as I did in the beginning. I had in total made three loans for vehicles and my first vehicle I put a down payment of 2000$ and have made every payment on time as well as keeping full coverage insurance on my vehicles. Two of my vehicles were deemed totaled by the insurance company I go through and have since been taken to salvage. I’m now without a vehicle and thought ( apparently my misunderstanding) I could get another vehicle through Highmark and I can but I need either 50% of the cash value or 85% cash value down as collateral AGAIN!! I have been a loyalCustomer and haven’t missed one payment but am not making as much as I did before and am now being treated differently. Loyalty means nothing to this bank. One of my vehicles was totaled due to me hitting a deer that ran into the road I front of me and couldn’t be prevented and the other was from a bad hailstorm I couldn’t control. I don’t understand why I’m being treated what I think is unfair. I would recommend if you go through this bank make sure your making over $20hr or your nothing to them but a bother.

Had to open an account to get a loan for a purchase. Closed my loan out and forgot I had some extra money in the account. With no heads up these pirates started taking money from the account. So told them to close my account and send a check with the remaining money they didn’t get a chance to pirate. I get that places charge a dormant account fees, I just would have appreciated a heads up from the bank before they started. They claim they sent out letters, I never received anything from them since I paid loan off.

The bank is great and people are wonderful. Just be careful when you go to trade in your vehicle, had an loan for a couple years, they never had my title but would take my money.

I would never start a loan with this bank. I have never had more problems with a loan in my life. They lack communication, professionalism and transparency. Unfortunately, I have no way out of this as they have completely ruined my credit score and many other things. My best advice for everyone would be to NEVER start a loan with Highmark Federal Credit Union. Unfortunately, I realized too late.
