The YMCA of Rapid City is a great part of the community that brings people of all ages together. It offers something for everyone, from basketball to swimming and childcare. Many find it an amazing place with incredible, friendly staff who are outgoing and make people feel welcomed. The daycare and kids' programs receive high praise for providing individual attention and compassion. Visitors have had the absolute best experience, finding it easy and welcoming even as out-of-towners.
However, some policies and hours can be inconvenient. The facility closes early on Saturdays, is closed on Sundays, and observes holidays, which some find limiting for their schedules. Additionally, specific rules, like a rigorous swim test requirement for children to use certain water features, have been noted as surprising and overly strict. Despite these points, the YMCA is widely viewed as a place that strengthens the community and offers opportunities for everyone to learn, grow, and thrive.

The YMCA has fantastic programming for families! Our lives changed for the better when we joined. Love their exercise classes and childcare. Sometimes there are office mix ups that are annoying but they'll get it figured out eventually.
