We stayed here in August of 2022, and so we decided since we were back in the area again on 18 August of this year, we should stay here again.
We were impressed and not disappointed in the least three years ago.
We were even more impressed this time.
Though it was about perfect the first time, they've improved the place since our last visit, and we again experienced the cleanest, coziest, most comfortable room and experience in our travels at Rockerville. They're easy on the budget, very conveniently located near Mt. Rushmore right off US-16, and the staff are wonderful. Friendly, professional, and a genuine pleasure to converse with, this place is our go-to when we're in South Dakota.
Yes, they do a continental breakfast from 0700-1000 too, which is a plus.
Keep doing what you're doing, you guys are awesome! We will be back again next time we're in town.

A true hidden gem in the Black Hills. Rooms were clean, up to date and very spacious and comfortable. Bed was comfy and great water pressure too!
The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a mom and pop type place which are harder to find these days
Breakfast is included and is just your usual cereal, coffee, oatmeal, bagel, etc. Very nice open dining area with a couch and bar area as well.
Would 100% come here again!

Very basic, couch was broken down and the people above you were super loud, sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. There was a used scrubbie on the sink to do dishes. Location was great, front desk was friendly. It's an ok place to stay for 1 night when you are just there to sleep.

Loved it here. The room was very clean and spacious and had a great kitchen. We stayed here multiple nights. The staff was kind and the breakfast was great. We stayed in the Golden Nugget building and did have to drive across the highway to breakfast, but that was the only downside. Breakfast included bread, brownies, bagels, english muffins, 3 cereal choices, juice, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc.

Great place to stay if you like bed bugs, rude staff and no privacy.
This place is Reasonably priced and it is convenient to have the kitchen.
But there where a few issues.
First a closed the toilet and was unable to plunge it as well as my son wet his bed. We left in the morning and left a note for housekeeping about the two issues we created. They left us a note saying it wasn't cool that we didn't call the office to make them aware of this issue. Very unprofessional.
Then we had our do not disturb sign on and they knock on the housekeeping door. After I said occupied they just opened the door while I was just standing there in my underwear shaving (door goes right into the bathroom).
But the worst part was I got bed bug bites. And when I told the front desk about it, they just said we don't have those kind of things here! But still wanted to see them and know what room i was in.
And really all I wanted was an apology. A little sympathy goes a long way.

We have been staying here for the past 4 years after getting a reservation canceled in Rapid City a few weeks before the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. It is a little piece of heaven. Slightly out of the way but we'll worth stopping.

Decent place to stay for the price point. The room was clean, though I wouldn't say deep cleaned. Location was perfect for getting into the black hills or Rapid city. While the housekeeping service was spotty (I was here for a week) the full kitchen was amazing. I didnt realize when I booked that it came with a stove top. So nice to be able to cook dinner in and have everything you need to make a meal. Bed was comfy and I didnt have back pain all week. Breakfast was a bit minimal but they do list right on the website what they serve. All in all a nice place to stay and great location

We stayed 2 nights before we made the trip to Glacier. This was a perfect location, clean room and friendly staff in the office. We stayed in the rooms across the street from the office, great room with a little kitchenette. Location was great, we were able to go to Mount Rushmore, badlands, and Custer State Park. We had dinner one night at the gaslight salon which was pretty good. Would definitely stay here again.

Don't get your laundry done there. Clean and convenient place. The owners charge $15 a load and you have to do the load. They have one washer and one dryer that really didn't work. thin walls and floors. People just do not have respect for each other anymore so that's not their fault.

This was really a great off the path but close to everything and not pricey. The beds were not that comfortable definitely need an upgrade. It was nice to have a kitchen in our room. We use the grills and they were very clean. The breakfast was very basic.

The owners are very nice and accommodating. The cabins are tight, but clean and mountain theme decorated.
I have a problem with cleaners, deodorizers, air freshness etc. Whatever the smell was in the room, it was too much for my sinuses and breathing.
The owners were very understanding and refunded my money...I recommend them highly

If you want hospitality please stay away from this place. Management has no heart and only cares about making money, she made that very clear when we had to leave early due to an injury that was only further injured by their property steps when there was no elevator. I assumed by booking with a family owned establishment that I would receive better service than a hotel chain but I was wrong. Management was also made aware of issues there and cleanliness and didn’t care, she didn’t even respond to be and went on to something else. Photos shows the mold and grime around kitchen and bathtub drains .
Location was great, room was updated but housekeeping needs a lesson on cleaning and management needs a lesson on how to treat their customers. BBB is unfortunately being contacted over the issue
