Avera McKennan Emergency is described as an excellent ER where patients have always been treated with respect and kindness by the staff and doctors. The desk people are not too thrilled, but those that take care of the medical are excellent. Patients appreciate the hospital and have always been treated so well by all of the staff. Staff members are described as beyond sweet, kind, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. They listen to all needs, explain everything, and make patients feel safe in scary moments. The ER team is concerned, friendly, and responsive, with high quality professionals who listen to predicaments, discuss options, and include patients in decisions. Nurses are amazing and treat patients with the utmost kindness and care, with the best bedside manner. The doctors are awesome and treat patients with great care. The care is good with no wait time. Staff understand patient history and building rapport is always appreciated. For an 8-month-old, the care team made sure the child was well cared for, listened to concerns, answered all questions, and was very caring.
