The Civic Council Thrift Store is a decades-long Vermillion staple and a great community center. It is described as a locally run Goodwill type store with very nice prices and a great selection of clothes, including kids clothes. Shoppers never know what they are going to find, from clothing and books to cooking utensils, dishes, silverware, fabric, and wall decor. It is a great place to find decent items for great, ridiculously inexpensive prices to supply a home, with frequent crazy sales like all clothing items for one dollar. The staff are noted as amazing and always friendly, though occasionally cranky. As a thrift store in a university town with college students coming and going, there is always a deal to be had and lots of stock to move through. It is a great place for the community. For donations, it is advised to go at the listed drop-off times, as waits can happen during busy seasons or bad weather, and kindness is appreciated.
I really enjoyed this place so I was surprised to see any bad reviews. They have good prices on all of their products and clothes and USD Students/Faculty get 25% off. This place is also pretty well organized, I would recommend having a look around!
