This is not only a Yankton treasure it is truly a national treasure. As a historical site every US history class taught in Yankton should include a tour of the house and a study of its place in Yankton. This place brings the beliefs that history is musty and boring to an enjoyable end and breaths life into the study of where we come from and who we are.

Beautiful Historic Home, great for events. I just went to a wedding there. The yard is beautiful, mature trees, and well kept.

This is a beautifully kept grand older home, one of the first in this city. They have tours in the summer and open house during the Christmas season. It takes at least an hour to tour but you'll probably want to spend more time as there is so much to see & learn.

This place is a fascinating time capsule. It is seasonally decorated so always changing. The grounds are planted with period appropriate perennials and annuals. The roses smell like roses!

Attended fundraiser, Octoberfest. It's awesome to have a steamboat area house as a historical museum. Good example of period house in territorial capital and steamboat stop on Missouri River.
