I booked a car for Cancun a month before my trip. It was $396 total with insurance. When I arrived in Cancun they made me add a driver with a Mexican license and doubled the price. I had no choice. I have called 4 times with a promise of a manager calling me back. At no time has a manager called me back. I will never rent from Alamo again.

I rented a car for the first time in years. I was nervous about the whole process because I don't like renting cars I don't know, from a company looking to make money. I hadn't heard the best about Alamo years ago, but decided to try them because I've seen some good reviews. We had an excellent experience from start to finish. We set pick up time for 8 am. We were the only ones there at the desk. Jennifer helped us through the process and was great. She explained everything to me and was nice and professional. That's important. We found the car in the parking garage in the rental car section easily. The branch manager actually saw us looking the car over and said no worries about some of the minor scratches you see. I'm not going to pursue a client for those anyway. He was very nice. Alamo must require managers to wear suits because several were in suits that we saw. And it's nice when someone takes care to dress nicely and appropriately for work. It matters. The car itself was cleaned well upon pick up and whatever cleaning supplies they use, they don't give off any strong odors which is very important. Thank you for that, Alamo. The car drove perfectly throughout our rental time, we really enjoyed it. The total cost was also fair. We dropped off early and that was during a busy time. I wanted to give the keys to Alamo and not leaving them in a drop box because I just wanted to know that I was done with my rental. I made it to the desk with 1 minute to spare and was greeted by another nice employee. She was very helpful getting it returned and did just as she said she would. She inspected the car and had my final email to me quickly. No issues at all. Thank you for a great experience Alamo!

Alamo provided a good service... a little wait in line at McGee Tyson Sanford/Orlando (FL) Airport, however... Roderick made sure I had a rental car that met my satisfaction and Arlene provided a phenomenal service when I returned the car. Both employees served above and beyond, and I offer many thanks to them.

Brendan(Alcoa/Knoxville Airport) was amazing! We needed to trade our car for an all wheel drive due to the upcoming winter storm and he made the process so easy. We really appreciate his kindness and all of his help with making sure we were put into something better safer and prepared for the ice and snow. Thank you

They have two strange rules. First, they require a credit card only for renting. Debit ATM bank card is not good for them. Second, they require additional form of ID. Driver license and credit card is not good enough for them, they asked me a medical insurance card as well. Beside that minor hassle, everything else was easy and perfect. Two strange rules. First of all, they only accept credit cards. Bank debit cards are not suitable. Secondly, they require additional personal identification. A driver's license and a credit card are not enough for them. They also asked me for a health insurance card. Apart from these oddities, everything else was easy and perfect.

They swiped my card for a deposit never released the car to me. After speaking with the manager Eric he explains that he’s going to get it taken care of an have my money reversed back to my account with an detailed email stating I never received the vehicle an for the reverse back of my funds. A whole week an a half goes by an nothing they ripped me off an I have yet to see a penny of my money back ?very upsetting an very unprofessional. All of the rental places have different names in this airport but I was told their all connected thru Enterprise so be very cautious when renting thru them.

Friendly and professional people at the counter in Knoxville airport. Quick service and got a brand new car. Cost was significantly less than comparable rental car companies.

Exactly like the website said , great vehicle , return was amazingly easy and friendly. The only thing that keeps from 5 star is the check-in process. The girl must have hated her job and it showed.

Overall I was happy with our latest Alamo rental. Pickup took place after their nominal operating hours; it was after 12:30a, but the counter was staffed. We were a little concerned about some pre-existing damage to the body, but apparently we didn't need to be; the total at the end was exactly as expected. I have to say, the Challenger was fun to drive! So, plenty of good, but in the interest of balance: One of my pet peeves is made-up fees; two charges totaling almost $39 seem to apply. Also, we returned the car after-hours, and signs said to drop the keys off "in drop box by booth", but here's the rub - there's no Alamo booth! We dropped our keys off in the National drop-box and hoped for the best (it worked out okay).

Staff was nice and the rental process was quick. Short walk from terminal to parking garage to get the car. Car was clean and ready to go. Had reserved a mid size suv, but was given a Jeep Compass which I believe is a compact suv. Was certainly a squeeze for us-2 adults, 3 kids, 1 car seat, plus luggage. That would be my only negative. Otherwise, a positive experience.

We left a camera bag in a rent car, but ran back to the dropoff point before our flight left and asked them to look for it. As our flight was leaving they informed us it could not be found, and confirmed that the next day when we called to check, so we bought some replacement items, putting off the very most expensive. We had lodged our loss with airport security and baggage claim but they did NOT have it at the time but promised to follow up with Alamo ,,, AMAZINGLY several days later Alamo calls and says they "found it" and can ship it to us (!) just give them a credit card for the shipping ticket --- which we did. FedEx failed to deliver it to ANY address on our cul-de-sac, so we filed a claim ... they reluctantly allowed us $100 saying WE did not specify a value on the order. REALLY? People leave stuff in rent cars ALL THE TIME and Alamo doesn't put a value on their return even though Alamo knows full well what it is and the customer pays the shipping WHATEVER the charge? SO ... we are now out over $1500 On a happier note, the car we rented (they substituted for what we asked for) was actually quite satisfactory.

Our experience with Alamo at the Tyson Airport in Knoxville was excellent. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was nearly brand new, spotless inside & out, and gave us a smooth ride through the Smoky Mountains. We returned the car at 4:45 AM and were greeted promptly. Excellent experience.

The customer service was great! The car itself was very clean and a smooth drive. Returning it was easy and no hassle at all. Would rent from Alamo again.
