They don't accept new patients and are content to let your animal die

Athens, Tennessee is called the “Friendly City” and Family & Friend Pet Clinic exemplify this title. I've been a client of Family & Friend Pet Clinic for three wonderful years. Dr. Miller and the entire staff have consistently impressed me with their kindness and attentiveness. With four cats and two dogs, our family's pets have received exceptional care at this clinic. Their expertise and compassion make it the perfect place for any pet owner.

After my dog injested rat poison I immediately drove to Family and Friend Pet Clinic only to be turned away because the vet had to go “pick up his kids.” This was 2:30 pm and the best they could do is send me to another vet across town. I lost 45 critical minutes and I’m posting this from a waiting room while the this place is inducing vomiting and trying to save my 4 year old service dog’s life. I’m a veteran with PTSD and am completely at a loss for words. I’ve never been so easily dismissed in an emergency. This clinic is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the community. Take your pets somewhere else if you love them.Edited to add that I had several locals tell me Dr Miller left his last place because he wanted to work less. He should have retired.

The staff and Vet are wonderful. Our dog had some breathing issues so we called Monday morning and they were able to get him in that afternoon. Then we called the next day for the same issue that had worsened and they took him in first thing in the morning and kept him all day to do the needed testing. We really appreciate their speed and effort.

Most awesome vet EVER!! We have 6 dogs and 2 cats and we take them all to Dr. Miller. He saved our German shepherd, service dog, after another vet botched his neutering. He was bleeding out fast and everyone moved into action taking him straight into emergency surgery and saved him, and he had NEVER even met us. The staff are all just as great and really knowledgeable. We will never use anyone else!

This was my first visit and I definitely will be back again. The veterinarian and staff were very caring and professional. My chihuahua was really nervous at first probably d/t smelling dogs and a new office. The technician calmed him very well. The veterinarian, I am sorry I forgot his name was very thorough in checking Rocky who has been scratching a lot lately. I forewarned them that he does not like his nails cut and they had to muzzle him in the past visit to another vet. the veterinarian was very patient with Rocky and he calmed considerably. No need for him to be muzzled. Rocky received an allergy shot without a flinch. The vet also was very thorough in explaining things.

My parrot had a respiratory issue, and they are just about the only place in the area willing or capable of seeing parrots. After a second round of antibiotics, my bird is healthy again. The doctor was straightforward and knowledgeable. The office is simple and this reflects in my bill (cheaper than most, hallelujah!). I highly recommend Family & Friend Pet Clinic for parrot owners.

Tried to make an appointment for next year so I would not have to put it on my credit card so close to chrissssmiss. The receptionIST said there was a $20 charge to make app. She did say that initially until I said I wànted next year. I have spent THOUSANDS ON MY BABY. NOT THE POINT. she got rude. You front desk represents your business.

I can not say enough good things about Family and Friend Pet Clinic! We had to say goodbye to our boy , 14 1/2 years old. He was no longer eating and we knew his time had come. I called them to see if they could help with him. We were not currently patients of the clinic and they were so kind and caring, they fit us in same day. They made sure that I was comfortable with everything and that more importantly our pup was comfortable. They gave us as much time to say goodbye as needed. Gave us little keepsakes to remember him by. And lit this candle in their lobby for him. All the little things are what meant so much, in this very difficult time. I highly recommend this veterinarian office. We will be back for our other dog's needs. It's so special to feel like they genuinely care for you and your pet. It's more than just a job to them.Thank you so much from our family!

Our lab Maddie was 12 and we had been on vacation and she got really sick while we were gone we came in on Monday morning at 730 and we knew she was in bad shape. The staff was so kind and the Dr explained every to us. When the decision had been made they gave our family time with her and then was so gentle during the process, the Dr and nurse even teared up. I would highly recommend this clinic for your pets needs and my family thanks them for making such a bad day as good as it could be

I cannot say this enough, Dr Miller and his staff were the only vet clinic in Athens that were willing to see Chloe in her final time of need. It can be difficult to find an "exotic" (anything not a car or dog) vet. I am thankful to have found him and his office. The staff was very supportive, caring, and understanding when I had to bring our pet rat in. She was very old and riddled with cancer. They made sure I understood the process, offers to let me stay by her side the entire time throughout everything that had to be done.Being able to go to Dr Miller for this painful process made a difficult situation a tad bit easier, and definitely safer for her and me. Our regular vet is in Cleveland. Needless to say it would have been difficult to drive the 45+ minutes while upset. No matter what type of pet you have you should always have a backup vet in case something happens. We will be using Dr Miller and his kind, knowledgeable, animal loving, and very compassionate staff for all of our local vet needs.
