I just stop here to use the restroom occasionally on tuesdays when collecting trash. Parking is questionable for a class B rig. The bathrooms are well maintained though.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Our memberships had expired and they gave us the paperwork and helped us complete them right away. They even gave my wife a pair of reading glasses to use because she forgot hers.

I was appalled to see how the Slater center was set up to handle voting in our area. Upon arriving, I noticed campaign signs for candidates on and around the polling station (both parties), as well as across the street directly across the street from the entrance (one party). Most voting stations have a 100-500' rule for any signs being displayed. The wait was a line going in, as well as exiting in the same close proximity with a mere rope dividing partially. Coming into a closed in hallway and into a room that is about the size of a very small classroom no blocked by an attendant that had no sense of what 6' social distancing means. There were 3 tables literally cheek to cheek for checking in to get your voting slip, set right next to two side by side people giving you a slip if paper with a # to type in to make your vote. There was approximately 9 "voter helpers" stuffed into this extremely small room to vote, along with several tables, and little voting booths side by side. This was by far, the worst set up I have ever seen, and considering we're in the midst of a severe pandemic, it appeared they did not think this thru very well at all. It seems a good recipe for most of Bristol TN to have a 3rd wave of cases from voting. In the past, they did this in the auditorium, plenty of room, plenty of space and spacing, and that's pre-pandemic. Shame on whomever thought this was a good idea! I had to ask the door greeter to back up twice, as nice as he was, he had no concept of social distancing and sadly, made me feel bad about having to ask him to back it up....which he was old enough to know better. I feel terribly sorry for these people trying to help voters through this process and being exposed to such awful conditions as well as possible exposure to the virus! They deserve a medal, including the guy at the door. The supervisor of this deserves to be punished and removed from their position for such poor planning in the light of this petri dish of exposure to all who are doing their civic duty by helping voters or actual voters. Under the circumstances, I think the people working under these poor conditions deserve a medal along with anyone braving this just to vote!
