I've been a client of Animal Clinic East for about a year now. I see Dr. Love because I have a Boxer and she does, too, so I know she knows the unique issues that come with the breed. She's been great with my boy, who's a rescue and has some problems. She's patient with him, answers questions about treatment options, and seems to be up to date on current literature and treatments, which is really important to me. The office and techs have been great, too. The only thing I don't like is the inability to see a doctor on Saturday. I ended up taking my cat to my previous vet for an emergency because they were open on a Saturday and I didn't want to go to the emergency vet who didn't know him at all. Most people work during the week and it's very inconvenient not to have vet staff on the weekends even for regular visits.

Three generations of my family have taken our animals exclusively to Animal Clinic. My grandparents and my mother started taking their pets to 23rd Street Animal Clinic in the late 70s. My grandparents are passed now, but my mother and I still take our animals to Animal Clinic, but have been patronizing the East location for the past couple of years. My family has a 45 year relationship with this practice. That ends today. Since this practice has gone corporate, the prices have continued to skyrocket while the veterinary expertise has plummeted. My wife took one of our Boston Terriers in this morning to be treated for an earache and get a few maintenance shots. It was obvious the vet didn't even know what breed our dog was and proceeded to try to upsell products/treatments our dog did not need. My wife declined most of these suggestions, but still walked away paying $720.00 for a yearly wellness visit (including vaccinations), treatment for an ear infection, and a box of flea medication that was an upsell because I've had this dog for five years and have never seen a flea on her. I take care of my dogs, and I don't mind paying good money for that care. However, $720.00 for routine treatment such as I have detailed is ridiculous. I have never paid a vet bill this high that didn't involve surgery or the emergency vet. I know Animal Clinic East doesn't care that they are losing my family as clients after a 45 year relationship in which we have been fiercely loyal to this practice. It just saddens and angers me to see corporate greed destroy that relationship. My wife and I will be seeking a new practice to care for our dogs, as will my mother and her two cats.

I cannot say enough good things about this place!!! The staff was absolutely outstanding, caring, and sooo helpful!!! They did not suggest a ton of random tests or up charge me for things that were unnecessary. They asked me what testings I was okay with and what I wanted for my cat. They were super great with my cat and helped him feel so much better! My cat was super sick when I went, and by the time I got home he was in good spirit and good health. I will DEFINITELY be returning. If you like great service and friendly, understanding staff members: THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU! Thank you so much to the staff here. You have been absolutely amazing and I cannot thank you all enough! I appreciate all the hard work and kindness!

I'm so sad to know this clinic preformed procedures on my sweet Kitty, all for profit and because they were apparently not educated in handling a cat that is nervous about going to the veterinarian. Gracie had a bad experience at a previous Veterinarian and they put it on her record that she was violent and needed to be sedated. So without even giving her the option or the opportunity to be a good cat, they insisted on sedating her all the time. Not only that but the last time they put her under they used too much sedation and she couldn't hold her head up or walk until the next day. It was painful and very sad to watch. Now we take her to Lee Parkway veterinary clinic and each time they have seen her they have said that she was a sweet cat and had no issues. This last visit this morning at Lee Parkway veterinary clinic they gave her a shot of antibiotics, a rabies shot and they clipped her nails. And when I asked about her behavior the vet tech said that she was a little nervous and did get a little tense during the nail clipping but with the appropriate amount of care and love she was just fine. His words exactly were "she is a sweetheart". So animal Clinic East needs to take some classes apparently and maybe Lee Parkway animal clinic can you show them how to treat animals without sedating them.

Animal Clinic Inc.'s veterinary care is excellent and I highly recommend them for routine veterinary care and for emergencies. However, I'm very disappointed (to say the least) in their boarding. Our cats had to be boarded long-term after we lost our home in the the April 12 tornado. We went to visit them today and two of our cats have nearly doubled their weight while at Animal Clinic East. The photos on the left are before they were boarded and the photos on the right are when we visited today. I am very upset because it will be very hard for them to lose all this weight they gained while in ACE's care, and I'm worried there may already be permanent damage to their hearts and joints. I would have thought that a vet's office, of all places, would know the dangers of over-feeding cats and would be making sure they were getting food portions appropriate to their size and activity level. I feel awful seeing my cats so fat they can barely move, and even worse knowing that it was a vet's office that caused this. :( Please be very cautious about boarding your pets here, especially long-term.

Rude & incompetent staff. I wanted to ask what the fee was for my visit & she hung up instead of putting me on hold. They take their sweet time & aren't concerned with you or your pet at all. They're ill-mannered & over priced. I don't recommend them at all.

Professional, clean, and caring staff. We love the vet we've seen several times. She really listens to our concerns. They have taken great care of our animals.

The quality of customer service at this location just does NOT compare to the downtown Animal Clinic location! The front desk lady is very dry and shows no emotion- it's almost rude! The pet tech helper was a bit distasteful as well! You aren't allowed to be with your pet at all during their frightful time at the vet! It's unacceptable and unprofessional to refuse this accommodation to the pet owners and their pets! They DON'T bathe cats without drugging them- unlike the receptionist said they did. Once we left, Animal Clinic Downtown was able to successfully trim all my cats' nails without any kind of problem, and they had no problem with letting me sit in during their nail trim! I've never had a single issue with any service or employee at Animal Clinic Downtown!
