They left the office in the middle of the day then they guy running the office rented told me he rented my car out already. Also told me told f myself on the way out the door. What a piece of garbageEdit: reading reviews, seems like renting out your car or not having any cars for pickup is a common problem here

Rented a car, got there to pick it up and the cheap ID verification machines Avis uses kept saying my license is fake. They refused to rent me a car and I had to cancel my trip. I traveled 45 min to pick up the car only to have to travel back without it.I have a CDL and a number of security clearances. They scrutinize a license to no end. If there was any issue with my license I would know.We rent cars frequently. Avis has permanently lost our business because they are not reliable. The guy admitted he has seen several do that.I wonder how much business Avis is losing...Beware...

The gentleman whose name I unfortunately don't recall was super accommodating to a problem we had that was in no way Avis's fault. I'll definitely be choosing Avis in the future.

No one was in the lobby and I waited until they got a phone call to finally be waited on. Upon getting charged for the rental the very rude desk attendant informed he he couldn’t rent to me despite that I’ve gotten many rentals from other (and arguably better) rental companies. So now I have a hold on my car almost double what I was originally quoted online and can’t even pick up a car due to their rude desk attendant. They need to close this place down.

I have rented many cars from this location and have only had minor issues up until my most recent rental. I got there and started finalizing my rental and was informed that the vehicle is bigger than what I requested. I go outside after finalizing my paperwork and see that the vehicle is huge but I decided to try to drive it to not be a hassle. I get 3 mins away and decided I am unable to comfortably drive the vehicle and it felt unsafe to do so. I called the attendant and started to head back to the rental location. Immediately the attendant had an attitude. I asked him if there were any other vehicles and he advised there were not and that I could trade it out if a smaller vehicle was available at the airport location. I called the airport location and they confirmed there were smaller vehicles available. I went back inside to confirm the next steps and what I should expect when trading the vehicle out at the other location. The attendant cuts me off as I’m speaking and reiterated that he didn’t have anymore vehicles available, clearly not listening. I get to the other location, and after waiting for about an hour, I was able to get a vehicle that was the size I initially requested from the first location. Not only was my trip delayed, I was never informed that I would be paying for both rentals although one was traded out due to the attendant not confirming the larger vehicle would be okay with me before finalizing it.

AVOID AT ALL COST. Management has two braincells and both of them are fighting for third place. extra 300 dollars and two hours later and no rental car was the solution.

Worst customer service ever!!!! If I could give a 0 star I would. If you want to rent from Avis or Budget, skip this location and go to Chattanooga airport. Upon starting the vehicle, I noticed the car had various lights on the dashboard and the steering wheel only turned with force. Before leaving the parking lot I brought it to the attention of the owner. He assured me that it was only the side mirrors and no other issues. He also stated there were no more Avis rental cars in town. I later found this was a complete lie from another location. 20 minutes after leaving the store the car was inoperable. The vehicle would not start. The battery was completely dead. I tried calling the location 5 times without the employee answering the phone. After getting a ride back to the store, the employee said that it wasn't their problem they gave us a vehicle with a dead battery. He stated that since i took the vehicle it was my issue. This was less than an hour from leaving their parking lot. He rudely pointed at a 1-800 number and said call road side assistance. I stated that since I picked up the vehicle with a dead battery and only 20 minutes later had a vehicle that wouldn't start, I expected their assistance getting the vehicle to their store and a full refund of my $300. The employee refused to help or offer assistance. I asked to speak to the manager or owner and was told "NO!" in an aggressive raised voice. I asked a second time and received the a YELLED response of the same. My ride then spoke up and matched the employees tone and stated he will not yell and treat me like that. The employee then chose to incite the situation by yelling, "Get the F*** out of my store". My ride matched his tone of voice by saying we will not leave until the situation had a resolution. The employee continued to yell, "get the F*** out of the store" and called 911 to report we were not leaving his store. He then called the owner which come to find out mis his father as we waited for police. It was then apparent how an individual with no customer service skills, an anger management issue, and lack of caring remained employed. He works for daddy. We remained on premises until police arrived and the situation was resolved. Despite the employee's verbal abuse and intimidation I was not leaving until I was compensated for the cost of a rental car that was inoperable. The solution was that I, the client, jump started the car and brought it to another Avis location. The manager of the other location full filled the rental contract and gave monetary compensation for my troubles. It was brought to my attention this Avis location in Hixson has had many complaints. The employee that was unbelievably rude, irresponsible, verbally abusive, and unwilling to take any responsibility for the vehicle or his behavior is the owners son. The owner is the individual who gave me a car with a dead battery yet assured me it was fine despite the alert light on the panel. I am thankful I was not on the highway further from home upon discovering the dead battery. I am also grateful the Avis location in Chattanooga employed caring, helpful and responsible employees willing to step up when the location in Hixson failed to uphold the rental contract or demonstrate basic decency.

The worst place to try to rent a car from. My boyfriend and I reserve and car for 23rd for the Hixson location at 12pm and when we got there the guy said that the reservation was moved to the 31st, this was no big deal we got on online and changed the date back to the 23rd and put another reservation in and went back to talk to the guy at the count and he was very rude told us that it did not matter if we changed the date he didn't have a car gor us, we asked him why online said the Hixson location had rentals available and allowed us the reserve a car. He didn't care about anything of that he just told us to go to the airport they may have a car for us.

Took my husband's money online for a car rental. Refused to rent us the car we paid for when we got there because he didn't have a credit card separate from his bank card and was told it would take 10 days to get a refund if they gave us one. We paid almost $900 for our rental and I still don't have a vehicle to get to my ems job.

Worst Avis agency ever. Had a reservation that was checked in for. Got delayed slightly and the person in charge gave the car away without even a heads up. He pretty much left me up in the air and stranded.

Just like many others, I receive a call, as I am on the way to pick up my reserved vehicle, telling me that they do not have any cars. No solution was offered. I was depending on the rental for a work responsibility in Franklin, TN.

I have never rented from this location before but I will definitely come again. The owner and son team were friendly with great customer service. This Corvette Stingray was a blast and a dream to drive. I had never driven one before and wow it has a lot of power. Almost to much power in such a light car.Having this car over the memorial day weekend was pure joy, fun, and memorable.I would definitely recommend coming to this location and renting a car.Thank you for the wonderful experience and see you again soon.

Rented car away from airport...tremendous savings. Best price by far. I did compare several companies. Avis beat them all, by about 50%.
