“I recently helped a family member with a tile project, showers and floors. They did not end up buying from Acme, but my choice would be Acme. All tile stores are not created equal. I shopped at almost all of them in Chattanooga. Yes, tile does come in a spectum of materials, finishes, and prices. But ultimately it comes down to the look and amount of maintenance you're after. You're probably going to find a porclein tile will be great and work for whatever your budget. (We added a room after our tile was ordered and received. Because we didn't want to wait on back order again, we used a Lowe's tile, half the price, that you cannot tell it's difference between the custom order from the tile store.) Store lighting, broad selection, and service are what I found I'm looking for when I shop for tile. Pricing is fairly competitive for getting the look you want. Labor and install for the project is really where the tile budget gets broken. Lighting is at the top of my list. You don't know what you're getting in a poorly lite store. And unless you're shopping for tile like a wedding bride, with advance event scheduling...Then I can't complain about the other stores, except the pampered service may or may not continue after the order is paid. Acme has some of the best lighting, service is straight forward, friendly, in real time, no low or high expections set, and there is a good selection. Other stores probably have as good looking tile, but you can't see it, and buying a car from a Ford dealer is easier than some of the other stores.”
