Mat was really informative and helpful when I checked out my U-haul at 3:30 and Elizabeth came out and met me before I even got out of the truck at around 3:00 to return it the next day. I will use Cannon self storage again, because the staff was friendly and everything went smoothly.

We needed a trailer for a purchase we’d made, so went to the nearest U-Haul. The service was quick and friendly. We were out the door in less than 15 minutes with a 5’x8’ trailer.

Super helpful staff and knowledgeable of basically every question I had. They have policies posted everywhere, and even things for if you show up on a day they're closed. Long story short, it's a self-storage place and the staff there know their stuff.

The employees were very friendly when I picked up the small 4x8 trailer and I returned it when they were closed because they said there would be no issue. I rented the small 4x8 trailer on a Saturday morning and returned it Saturday afternoon after they had closed and parked the trailer at the location where I rented it, as stated by the contract, nowhere in the contract does it say it must be parked perfectly between the lines in order to avoid an additional fee. I received my receipt and they had assessed a $10 cleaning fee. I returned to the location to ask why I was charged a cleaning fee when it was as clean as I received it, initially their response was I must call U-Haul, even though the location added the fee. While I was leaving a man came out and said I was charged because I didn't park the trailer right between the lines of the parking space. I questioned him, no time during the rental process was I told I would be charged if I didn't park the trailer perfectly and that's not on the contract either. The contract states it must be returned to the same location that is was rented from and be clean. While I was leaving I noticed 2 other trailers ( neither of the ones I rented) parked across the lines. I assume it's ok for the Cannon U-Haul franchise employees to park trailers anyway they wish, but not the customer. I’m very sorry these employees at this location had to do some actual work. I know that’s a lot to ask of anyone these days. I’ve always had a good experience with the U-Haul Corporate owned locations, but this one will not receive my business again. My advice to anyone renting, always deal with the corporate locations, if possible, and avoid these small franchised locations, or at least check their feedback first, especially this one. They have questionable business practices and seemed to be ethically challenged. I wish I had checked the poor Google reviews and the less than professional responses from this franchised location before I rented from this U-Haul location. My suggestion is, you should too.
This last section is a direct quote from the contract:
RETURNING EQUIPMENT
Return EQUIPMENT to the destination location listed on your rental contract or call the Drop Off number provided. Failure to do so may result in additional charges.
This was part of the response from the owner:
"We always make it clear at pick up where to drop off, and the requirements for doing so. We do this to avoid any inconvenience to other customers who may be dropping off after hours as well."
I appreciate your intention to communicate clearly at pick-up regarding drop-off locations and requirements. However, in my recent experience, there seemed to be some confusion about where to drop off and what was required. This led to a bit of inconvenience, especially considering others who may drop off after hours.Nothing was mentioned about returning the trailer to a specific location to avoid any additional charges. Moving forward, ensuring consistent and explicit communication at pick-up will help avoid such issues and maintain a smooth process for all customers. U-Haul Corporate understood the lack of communication between the franchise and the customer and refunded us the additional charges

I've been in the market for getting a storage unit close to home due to renovations and I went in and spoke with Elizabeth personally. She was professional, courteous, and quickly determined what storage options are available. I'm also pleased that this is a U-Haul affiliate location so I don't have to go to Hixson, Downtown or East Ridge to rent a truck. The Property was spotless, professional in appearance and has the "Down Home" vibe we're used to here in Chattanooga. Y'all should come down and talk to Ms. Elizabeth in person.

Zero stars if I could. Absolutely never do business here.
We needed to rent a car dolly and found online they have UHaul dolly’s available. They close at 2 on Saturdays, and it was cutting it close but thought maybe if I called ahead and asked if they could stay open a few minutes extra for us they’d be willing to if not, not a big deal.
I called at 1:40; I was unpleasantly greeted by Elizabeth on the phone. Said we’re needing to rent the car dolly they have available and know they close in 20 minutes but if we get there in the next 5-10 if they could help us. She laughed and said “no, I have an appointment and I’m the only one here.” I said, you said no (because her line kept breaking up)? She said “yeah no, good luck getting here.”
I’m 6 months pregnant, my husband did not like how she spoke to me. We showed up at 1:49, she was in her scooter gear all ready to walk out. He went in and said “are you the woman who was rude on the phone to my wife?” I could hear from the parking lot as I was walking in her start yelling, cursing and telling him he’s being aggressive. She threatened to call the cops and have us banned. She called her manager, he said our last reservation is 1:30. I said ma’am that’s all you had to say on the phone. She continued to yell and scream and threaten us.
After going to an actual UHaul store, they’ve heard numerous complaints about Cannon and Elizabeth in particular. 10000000% do not recommend doing any type of business here.

If I could leave zero stars based on the woman’s attitude when we arrived to drop off our Uhaul truck I would. We did everything we were supposed to (appropriate gas tank level, truck swept out, and blankets folded). We attempted to check the truck in online but the app wouldn’t work. She was extremely rude and acted as if she didn’t want to be bothered by us. We are professional people and if we owned this business we would be appalled to discover our employee speaking to customers in this manner. We will never use this location again.

I had my storage unit here for 5 years.. I know I should have just get rid of the junk sooner.. but I had no reason too. The staff was polite and helpful. The place was always clean. I never had any issues getting what I needed. If you pay your rent, and follow the rules (the few they have).. you too will love this place!!

Showed up, entry code would not work. Could not access my unit. Had people come from 4 hours away to make a purchase, could not.

Charged 25.00 because the truck was parked facing the wrong way. What a joke. It’s noted on the bill as a cleaning fee but the lady confirmed it was for turning the truck around.

Rented a uhaul after an hour and a half finally made it out side to hook it up. The trailer was damaged non rentable. Asked for a refund the employee didn’t know how to do it. Finally had to call the police after trying to run my check card several times. Do not rent from this place 2 hours later I left with out a refund no trailer. Called uhaul and they made it right.

I booked U-Haul trailer rental for 4pm. I called to confirm they had a tow hitch and straps to buy. They didn’t, which is fine, but I say “ok I’ll need to go pick those up first then before I head that way, what time do you close?” Guy says 5pm.I arrive at 4:45pm with tow hitch and straps. Store closed. I knock on the door. Guy I spoke to then opens the door and says “we’re here until 5pm but we stop serving customers at 4:30pm. The last 30 minutes is for me to do paperwork so I can leave at 5pm”Me: “dude, I will pay an extra $100 for you to put your paperwork on pause and rent me this trailer. I drove so far out of my way to get to you guys to get this specific trailer.”Him: “no sir, I can’t break policy”If I owned that place, I’d fire this guy so fast. I couldn’t imagine one of my employees sending away a paying customer, and then not accepting an additional fee for the business to go out of the way to help the customer.
