Dr Smith and staff are so knowledgable, smart, and resourceful with the heart of a teacher, educated me on how to help my old, suffering dog. He is a new dog after just a month of a new diet that he loves, and supplements and a couple short-term medications. So happy to have found this place!!

Dr. Smith is well versed in nutrition and holistic care. She has a wealth of conventional knowledge of pet care, but adds her experience of herbs, supplements and Chinese medicine (acupuncture & mixed herbs.) We're confident our pets are benefiting for her wealth of experience.

The staff and care at CHAI are exceptional! The care and love they have given our fur baby has been above and beyond any we have ever experienced. We have had substantial improvement through acupuncture and laser therapy for our dachshund along with nutritional care. We love Dr. Katie and the entire team!!!

CHAI is always beyond helpful and personal. They always remember me and my animals and our unique needs. CHAI is understanding of my concerns for my older dog that has seizures and works with us to keep him happy and healthy. They never push anything beyond what we need and are always happy to explain all medical treatments and care. Moreover, the care they provide clearly comes from a place of knowledge and care from the doctors and team.

LOVE CHAI! You feel like a VIP client even if you're just going in for a routine appointment. Dr. Katie is brilliant. She takes the time to really listen and never rushes you. Reception staff is always kind and thoughtful and the vet/surgery techs are gifted at what they do. CHAI is such a Chattanooga gem!

I love how excited my dogs get when we pull up, and the staff is always equally excited to see them. Even one of my dogs--who panics about having her nails trimmed and has to has to have medication beforehand--loves coming, and they are so patient with her. They always give lots of treats and even on busy days I can still see how much they care. The reception staff are some of the kindest and most welcoming folks you’ll ever see at an office. I am so glad that we have a place like this in Chattanooga. Dr. Katie and Dr. Smith’s expertise has been game changing!

CHAI truly is the best of the best and I (a self proclaimed picky pet parent and helicopter dachshund mom) cannot recommend them more. While CHAI offers incredible, life changing therapies and treatments like acupuncture, holistic medicine consults, and preventative medicine, their staff is what truly makes the practice what it is. The CHAI team is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly seek to serve their clients (pet and human) to the highest standard. I trust the CHAI team completely to care for my pets, including regular exams and treatments and extended days at the clinic for things like surgeries. It is such a tremendous gift to have full trust in the folks who are caring for my kids. And my pups LOVE visiting their friends at CHAI. They are greeted with enthusiasm, tasty treats, and overall kindness. CHAI has taken care of my animals for five years so far — and many more to come. 10/10, all the stars, could not recommend more.

I brought my dog in for a heartworm test. I emphasized to the team that he gets nervous when he's not with me, but they said they require the dogs be taken to a back room to draw blood and be examined by the vet. When he was in the back room, they muzzled him, though he has never had a muzzle put on him before. When they brought him back to me, he was tangled in his harness so tightly to where his circulation was being cut off, and his mouth was bleeding - when I inspected his mouth further after I left, I noticed his gums on the left side of his mouth were bruised purple and bloody. I called CHAI to let them know he was injured, they were dismissive and said he must have done it to himself, and that the safety of their staff is their top concern.
My dog is 13 pounds, and if they had allowed him to stay in the room with me, or communicated to me that he needed to be muzzled and let me put it on him myself, this could have been avoided. What happened didn't create a "fear free" environment.
At the end of the day, we don't know what happens to our dogs when they are not with us. All I was looking for when I called was compassion or an apology, but received neither. I wish I read the negative reviews before coming here. The defensiveness and apathy of this clinic is alarming. We understand the safety of your vet techs is top priority, and you're better off without us, but there are ways to handle a dog without causing injury.

The staff at CHAI have taken such good care of our kitties in the four years we've been going. They genuinely care for their patients and the humans who love them. I appreciate their passion for preventive care and integrative medicine. It's been so cool seeing our boys' coats get shiner with the better diet CHAI recommended, and I feel like we're doing right by our fur sons by taking them to the best vet in town. Sadly, we're moving soon, so we have to find a vet in our new city. CHAI is going to be hard to beat!

My favorite part of Chai is the lady in the retail shop downstairs with that cute dog! She is so knowledgeable and helpful (the lady, not the dog). The shop itself has SO much to offer, and the high-quality selection of products is impressive!
