Very unprofessional trained employees. Need managers working in store.
Racist and offensive to customer.
Store was also very unclean and unorganized.
I was once upon time a manager at two jcpennys and we then would have fired or been fired for what i just experienced.

Purchased ring for moms Christmas gift on black Friday and it had to be sized. Happened to be there yesterday (12/10/2024) just to see it I could get update. One clerk was helping someone the other clerk was beating on the counter. I asked if she could help and she said she was helping someone else. There was no one I could see. So after 30 minutes for a 1 minute question I walked off. Came back by clerk first day on job could not help. Not the first time will be last time. Love jewelry no service.

Me and my family went in for a photo session. We walked into the photo studio and the assistant manager shouted to us, "what are you all here for?" We walked over and told her our name and she told us it would be 270 dollars for 5 people. We were online just that day and it said it would be 80 bucks for us to get 2-3 digital photos. We were telling her that it was that online and she kept on saying it would be 270 dollars. We were telling her that online it's very clear that it would just be 80 dollars. We walked out and 2 of us went back in. At that time the manager was up there as well and when we went in we heard the assistant manager say, "That's that group again." Skip ahead a bit and we ended up right.

JC Penney is a great parking lot at Hamilton Place because no one hardly shops at the store anymore and it is easy in and out to the mall. When passing through a Disney jewelry piece caught my eye for my young daughter and I attempted to purchase it. The only register that had anyone nearby was in the women’s department. One person was working and had a long line. She informed the line that people could step over to beauty and there shouldn’t be much of a line. Upon arriving we were told that they only ring up beauty products. (Employee was just standing behind the register with NO one at it!) I walked over to jewelry department and was told that they only ring up fine jewelry. (Even though the product came from
their department.) Easy solution. Leave it on the counter and walk out. For a struggling retailer, it would seem that they would want customers, but the mindset of employees and leadership says otherwise. Start the clock, their time to insolvency is right around the corner.

I bought a watch with a warranty for free battery changes 2 years ago and now they don't keep batteries here and I was charged to send it off to replace the battery and won't get it back for 3-5 weeks. A little frustrating but the store in whole is still pretty good.

One of the dressing rooms was closed. I'm sure they had a good reason for it, but I know some people would find the walk to the next closest open fitting room to be an inconvenience. Cute dresses tho.

This location has terrible customer service. Attempted to exchange some shirts for the correct size. Not only was I not able to exchange for the correct size , with the receipt. But was spoken to like I was doing something wrong , and with much sarcasm. Had to get a refund which will take up to 10 business days. would not exchange the shirts.
I won't be returning to this location, or shopping with this company. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Poor customer care and support! I sent my son to be measured for a suit jacket. First, they tell him that they can’t come from behind the register. Then I call and instead of measuring him for the jacket, the lady hands him the tape and tells him. I don’t know how to do it. LAZY! If she had the time to get a measuring tape. She could have googled how to measure. People wonder why these stores are closing and people don’t have jobs. That’s why! How do they sell jackets if no one can measure.

I was there at roughly 12:30 today and I was waiting behind a lady opening a credit card to check out with a shirt, at the register near the door leading to the mall. After roughly 10 minutes, I asked my mother if I should find another register. The cashier looked up from her transaction to tell me she would be with me shortly. So I waited quietly for five more minutes. She finished the transaction, looked at me, and told me to check out in cosmetics as she turned away. I decided against buying the shirt and left.

An item I was going to buy was apparently marked incorrectly, the sign said it was $14.99 when it was actually $40. I told the lady ringing me up (her name was Selena or Serena, something like that. She was super tall) and she looked at me like I was stupid saying essentially that there was no way what I was getting would ever be $15. Which is fine. But then she was overly pushy about me signing up for their store credit card, saying that if I signed up for it I could get the item for 30% off or something like that. I politely declined several times and she kept pushing the issue. Ended up leaving without getting anything. Super weird interaction.
