ONLY USE THIS PLACE IF YOU LIKE RAT POOP/PEE/BITE HOLES ON ALL OF YOUR THINGS.
I had a unit at the end of column D. There was a 3 month gap between when I went and everything was normal and when I returned to what you see in the photos. Ideally one shouldn’t feel like they have to “check on” the contents of their storage unit. They even raised the rate $20 a month during this period of time. I was paying it as I had no idea what was happening while all of my things were being crawled on, peed on, and pooped on by rats/mice. I brought this up to them (when they were ACTUALLY even in the office), and I was told they could do nothing and to reach out to the insurance company. Unsurprisingly, this insurance company corresponded with me one time, and never reached back out to have an adjuster come out and look, and never responded to any of my emails or calls again. They took too long to get back to me, and I was not going to get charged AGAIN. So I spent 4 hours on a Saturday taking out and sanitizing everything (recoverable) covered
in poop/pee or had a hole bitten in it (in a poncho and gloves so I didn’t ruin my clothes with the bacteria and smell— in 93F weather).
Please see photos if you doubt what I’m saying. They have not helped in any way or reimbursed ANYTHING. The people in the unit next door were also clearing out their things that day with the same problem. They were treated the same way. Both they and myself had $600-$700 worth of items ruined. Not to mention my personally important items having pieces chewed off, and of course covered in poop and pee.
If Public Storage wants to make this right, feel free to reach out. And it was in my friend’s name, so I’ll cut you off at the pass and say if you want use that as a reason to refuse to help, I’m still leaving this review and photos up until I get compensation regardless. So based on what seems like usually good customer service based on your rating, the least you could do is reach out, because you can’t undo what I’ve shown in the photos and I can’t get that $700 worth of stuff back.
