Worst experience I have ever had at a paint store. I went in optimistic and excited to pick out a stain or paint for our front door and fireplace mantle for our 100+ year old home. I was belittled and talked down to from the very beginning. The worker had no desire to help me find a complimentary color to the existing colors in the home. The worker put little effort into understanding what we were looking for and we were left alone for the last 15 minutes in the store. We were talked down to about the our current color of the exterior home and were questioned why we were not painting it in a rude tone. (It is a yellow home and news flash not everyone can pay to have their entire home painted) I did not buy one thing and left even more confused than when I arrived. I will never give this store my business. Full of entitled workers who hate helping customers.

Just trying to sell stuff to you without listing to what you are trying to accomplish. I was sold a can of stain that would take at least 4 coats to show any color, and was advised to buy a particular brush. When I came back to return the stain, I was told not to use a brush but a rag (because it is so thin it just runs away). They said it needed to be mixed again, and to retry it. There was no difference, and so I went back a third time, just so they could tell me it works as expected and tough luck. Such a waste of time.

I went in looking for a stain to use for my new banister. I walked to the counter and told the woman working I was looking for interior wood stains. Her response was, "Ok." I then had to ask where the stains were. She looked annoyed, but gestured in a general direction. Once I picked out the colors I'd like to try, I went back and told her. She then informed me that it would be $15 for each color I wanted to try, which is close to the price of an entire quart. These were premixed colors, not ones that had to be mixed. I then asked what type of wood was used for the sample stains. Her response was, "I don't know, pine maybe." Anyone who has ever dealt with stains knows that the color of a stain varys greatly depending on the type of wood used. I left, and went the Chattanooga Paint and Decorating. There they happily put the sample stains (I had seen at Sherwin Williams) on the section of banister I had so I could see what it would actually look like on my railing, and they did this at no charge. I was able to make an informed decision and purchased my stain.

Every employee here is fantastic, especially Brad! I’ve come by three times now, and my wife twice, and every single time we’ve been very satisfied. I honestly don’t think I could buy paint anywhere else again.

Steven was extremely helpful—I had no idea what I was doing with roller choices and he was very kind and educational as well. 10/10.

It's sad but I go 4 miles or more out of my way to a different Sherwin Williams store. The folks at Cherokee Blvd are friendly enough but not so helpful, but the worse thing is they have never been able to fill my orders because they don't have the base or type of paint I want in stock. I am not exaggerating. I go in to find colors because they are only 1.5 miles from my house. Then I drive to Hixson or Redbank store.

Imagine a paint store existing that consistently runs out of paint. On three separate occasions they’ve run out of basic white and black paint. They had *none* of the 5 colors I needed. Don’t bother calling this shop if you need a gallon of paint, they will redirect you to their commercial location on E 23rd — which is just another sherwin Williams out of paint.Thankfully I’ve found a more reliable paint supplier at Green’s on dayton, but it is still upsetting to go into a sherwin Williams only to be told they have no paint.

Manager stays in the phone. Credit card machine down and doesn’t tell anyone until they have watched him ring up your sale 5 times because he is on the phone and not paying attention to his customers in the store. Was in there for half an hour to be told he needs me to go to the ATM to get cash. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone with current management
