I'm very disappointed in the new guy and girl who have came in trying to run this bank! My husband and I plus our entire family have been banking here for many years. And have spent thousands of dollars and paid back. Any loans! But when they recently came in they FIRED the Best Loan officer ever, Mrs. Susan Burris! She knew more about this bank than anyone after being there 30 + years and only 3 years to retire! It's a shame! The majority of people came there because they loved Susan, And she knew exactly what she was doing! All I can say is they made a huge mistake because this place is going down, Susan was the best they had! Good luck Bowater credit union because your gonna need it, im sure many other people will be leaving as well! As of tomorrow we will be pulling out our 2 savings accounts bank accounts and 2 loans. I'm very disappointed in the treatment she received from the new people as well! I would advise anyone who would like good and friendly customer service to try anywhere but Bowater credit union! Very displeased former customers it will come back to you! So I would suggest if you are looking for good customer service and caring people find another bank, Bowater is not what it used to be!

They allowed a place to repeatedly charge me illegally. I lost about $2500 in overdraft charges in like two months because Bowater refuses to acknowledge the illegality of what's going on. They don't cash out savings bonds, so I had to mail them in and wait several weeks. They are slow as molasses in processing any transactions, including my regularly scheduled paychecks, and they limit how much you can spend per day, as if it isn't your money to spend. If you want to exceed that limit, you have to physically go into the bank, BUY a special card from them, and load it so you can use that instead of your debit card. Their app is basically useless because so many things don't show up for days OR they show up and aren't reflected in the available balance, leading to more overdraft fees. If you want to have an expensive and difficult time, go with Bowater! They're great for that!

I hate to leave a negative review as I have always recommended Bowater to all friends/family.. Not anymore. I have an auto loan through Bowater- I changed my insurance for my vehicle and my insurance agent has sent the required proof they asked for THREE separate times and I have also called multiple times- they added over $800 to my loan even though I DO have insurance and it was provided to them.. multiple times. The person responsible for making this change, Lisa Moates, has been on vacation per Bowater but this has been going on for months. Since August to be exact. Highly disappointed... I guess checking emails is not a priority. I suggest going to any other bank if customer service is important to you.

My Wife And I Applied For A Home Equity Line Of Credit On August 11 2022. It Took A While To Get The Loan But The Loan Officers Were Very Nice And Apologetic About It. Nice People To Deal With.

It takes over 4 hours for the app to update and then u can't get cash out when u need it.

I've been a member since 1979 and never has their phone system there has been worse. Who ever approved this mess should be ran off. Some days just getting the recording to answer is not gonna happen. Then try talking to a human. Bottom line, love the people but hate the phone system.

I love banking with Bowater Credit Union Bank. All the employees are so very nice to you. Every time you go into the bank each one of them are so friendly & so eager to help in any way they can. Definitely recommend this bank to anyone for all your banking needs.

Very unprofessional. Tried to open a joint account for investment property. They will take your money before they even open the account. I had lost my physical ID and so they wouldn't open the account for me. I told them I had a digital copy and they denied it. Bowater did not stop the online transfer from my other bank account and decided to hold the money. When I talked to the manager I told her they shouldn't have transfered money if they couldn't open an account for me. She then told me she wouldn't give me my money because my bank should reverse the payment. Basically they would be holding on to money for a few days while they figured it out. It's the principal. Do yourself a favor and go to a bank thats not stuck in the stone ages!

This is a wonderful place for all your banking needs & a great place if you want to find a true friend. All the employees there are fantastic, they're always wearing a smile, ready & willing to help you in any way possible; they make going to the bank a pleasurable experience. You always leave with a smile on your face & warmth in your heart. I give Bowater Credit Union employees a huge"THANK YOU " for all that you do each & every day to make our lives a little more enjoyable by just being "YOURSELF". The drive through staff is more interested in what "we don't do that" attitude than providing customer service and listening to the customer to see if there isn't a way TO help. This has occurred on more than one occasion and I don't like order takers and negative ones at that. Full service means customer service also.

Over the past month they've started holding everything in pending until I don't have any money in my account , then all pending transactions magically drop at the same time giving me one hell of an overdraft fee. I know its intentional because it never used to do that.

Iv'e only been a member a little over a year and a half, and everyone I came in contact with has giving me outstanding service. Hat off to Bowater credit union.
