Used the online system to book a grooming appointment in your Cleveland, TN store for my dog on Friday. Was shown available appointments and scheduled one for today. I get a voice mail this morning that I need to reschedule because they didn't know their groomer was getting married. Called the store, spoke to the manager Jim.....Jim tells me sorry, life happens. If they can't maintain proper operational procedures nor offer even anything that resembles an apology this place is not a safe place to leave your pet unattended. When my frustration boils over I ask for Jim's boss to contact me. I use some spicy language and Jim tells me I won't get a call back and not to call back. Really Petco?????? I'd love to speak with corporate customer service. Jim might be a little underprepared to deal with tough situations and doesn't represent your brand well.

Bought 5 fish, even though the tank had several dead ones in it because they were on sale. 3 died and I took them along with a water sample back to be replaced. They were only 3 left and still several dead in the tank, but she told me mine had died because my nitrites and ph were too high and refused to replace them and gave a refund instead. She said my ph was too high because I hadn't been doing enough water changes, which is ridiculous. I came home and used my master test kit to test my water. Nitrates were 0, nitrites were 0 , ammonia was 0 and ph was 7.4. I have kept aquariums for over 48 years and these people don't know a fraction of what they think they know.

Went to Petco to get my son a hamster. The associate Brittany was able to educate me on hamsters and also informed me that gerbils are more friendly when being handled. Just before going to Petco I went to Petsmart and the employee there did not seem to want to help. Brittany took the time to make sure we had everything we needed to ensure a healthy happy gerbil.

They stop carrying the bigger saltwater fish food. The girl was rude when I ask if they stop caring saltwater fish food. She said Nope! It’s all right here and kept walking. I don’t want to buy 5 little containers of fish food they are not even what my fish eat or make 2 trips a week for food when I live half an hour to 45 minutes away. I suddenly stop getting the rewards to get 5.00 off after spending a good amount of money. Not worth the trip for me whatsoever.

Staff are absolutely rude and animals are not in good shape. I was shocked at how they treated me by asking to look at a gunia pig. I feel so bad for the animals and I recently seen a facebook post about a dog that was abused at their groomers! DO NOT SHOP OR SUPPORT ANYTHING HERE!!! petsmart across the road has helpful staff and the animals seem healthy in a better living environment.

What you'd expect from a chain store. Fine place to pick up supplies and equipment. Check the prices, though, as they can be high- And price matching is easy. Customer service can be VERY lacking in the store. I've gone in before, on several occasions, looking for fish, and despite many employees in the store hanging around 'yapping' with each other, have not been approached and asked if I needed anything. Honestly, the only reason I would buy a fish here versus the local fish stores is that sometimes certain ones go on sale for $1, and if I need a lot of them for a tank, the price is too good to pass up. Otherwise, the selection and knowledge at the local fish stores is MUCH better.

We adopted a dog from the humane society and she desperately needed grooming. I took her to Petco in Cleveland and the first time we had her groomed there they did an amazing job, however the second time we took her they butchered her haircut. It was terrible. It was uneven and they didn't even bother to cut the hair under her tail. I would understand if she was anxious and misbehaved or fought when they tried to groom her, but my dog is extremely well behaved and sits still for them . I made sure to verify that she was well behaved for them when I saw the disaster of a hair cut she received. If a dog is well behaved there is no excuse for the job that they did. The fact that they didn't even complete clipping under her tail is inexcusable. She also had some dirt under her chin where they didn't completely bathe her. There is no way she would still had dirt there if they had bathed her fully. I will not be going back.
