With all the drug issues being placed on doctors how is it the pharmacy can change a doctor’s prescription as written? Let’s start with, this prescription is for my dog. The prescription was for 8 pills and 5 refills a total of 40 pills. My dog is has developed stage 3 kidney issues and has to take 1/4 tablet each day. We specifically asked our vet to half what she prescribed previous due to the unknown of or dog was going to make it month to month. When we picked up the prescription and was floored by the price doubling from when we had the previous 16 pill prescription filled the tech stated it was due to a coupon the previous Walgreens used. In fact it was due to the pharmacist either changing the doctor’s ordered prescription or allowing the computer to change it. We got home and found that the prescription was 22 tablets with 3 refills! That is 88 tablets (22x4) over the life of the prescription when the doctor ordered 8 tablets with 5 refills over the life of the refills 48 tablets (8x6). We wonder why there are drug issues in America it probably starts with not heeding to what the prescription states and causing us to pay more to Big Pharmaceutical companies for the pills! I just hope my dog lives long enough to utilize the 3 months of pills the pharmacy would not take back because I left the drive thru with them shutting down 30 minutes for lunch and I was standing inside to get corrected when the returned. “Sorry sir I’ll make sure the computer is set not to change the prescription in the future, and since you left we can’t do anything to change what you paid for.” Well maybe I’ll take my business to someone who can follow directions and not rely on a computer to tell them what to do. Check your prescription before leaving the drive thru to make sure you can hand it back and not be overcharged. If your a drug addict this is the place to fill your prescription! If you’re on a budget and only want to pay for what you need find an old school pharmacy/pharmacist that takes pride in their work and follows the directions to the “T”.

I received my first dose of covid vaccine on Sunday at Walgreens in Clinton, TN. The staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful. Everything went off without a hitch and I could not be happier with the service provided. It is true you have to continuously check the appointment availability. Knoxville appointments at ALL available locations (health dept., UT and other hospitals, Walmart, Kroger, and others) are booked before you can blink your eyes! If you don't book the instant you see an open appointment, you'll lose it. You cannot blame the pharmacies/providers when it is on YOU you check and book your appointment. Thank you to ALL the staff who were working in Clinton on 3/21. I will see you in April for my 2nd dose.
