went to get a cat on the 4th of december 23’ and we found the perfect one, except she was put up by herself in one of the front cages, i asked about why she was in there by herself and they told me it was because she got spayed on the 21st of november but she was available for adoption, they told me she was healing well with no complications. the next day after taking her home i noticed her incision was bleeding a bit and decided to take her to the vet and they told me she looked fine and alright, and she was healing just fine.. this was the 6th.. now it’s the 11th and her stomach has opened up!! THEY SHOULD NOT! let people adopt until they are fully healed! they had told me she was healing well at the shelter and i trusted them. to not trust the front desk lady she is RUDE and a liar.

Not happy with how the office conducted his interrogation when I tried to help two neglected, abandoned pups.

Maury County Shelter,We recently visited your facility to drop off of a lost/stray dog we found but you would not accept him. I have two dogs of my own and cannot take care of a third. We rescued the dog because he was so scared from the fireworks being set off in the area and we didn’t want him to be hit by an another car! We also would want someone to rescue our dogs if they were in a similar situation. The MCAS employees were not empathetic at all! They made me feel like it’s my problem because I tried to do the right thing. I asked for a manager or senior level employee in charge that day and was meet with ignorance and arrogance. They ended up calling someone at home but had to leave the room to talk to them! I even explained that we are donors because of our love of animals and that was meet with cold blank stares and so what attitude.Due to the mismanagement and abhorrent disregard for tax paying citizens of Maury County I will no longer donate a single cent to your facility! I also wouldn’t leave this dog in the responsibility or care of your incompetent and poorly managed facility.I do not understand how an animal shelter can turn away dogs that are picked up because someone was trying to help them! Plus, now I have to take the dog back home and make an appointment to come back to drop him off during the week? I am a citizen that actually has a job, likes it and wants to keep it!I am so tired of hearing we don’t have enough help or we are overcrowded right now and that other people have been waiting weeks to bring in strays and that I have to make an appointment! Come on people! What if this was a child or any human that needed care? Are you telling me that they would be turned away too! I don’t think so!There are better ways to handle this situation and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out! Anyone with half a brain, empathy, and proper management skills would make something work! What does this behavior tell the community? Thanks for doing the right thing but now you have to keep the dog because we can’t help you!Furthermore, I explained that one of the two dogs I already own doesn’t like having this dog in our home. The stray is very sweet and well behaved. My dogs haven’t been aggressive yet but they are very protective of their territory! I don’t know what will happen if he stays longer! I also said, I might as well release the dog right outside but the MCAS staff didn’t care. The just looked back at me was cold stares.Obviously, we love animals dearly and care how they are treated so please do not shame us for not being able to keep the dog. We rescued him! We gave him a safe warm place for several days, feed and loved him! Unfortunately our fur babies are very set in there ways and I can’t crest any more stress for them.New management is needed!

Wonderful, caring staff. This is a great place to get an animal and know they are being honest about any problems they may know the animal may have. Highly recommend.
