This is the perfect campgrounds for a lot of us who love to adventure, great place to call base camp for the epic mountain biking in the Ocoee area . We go here once a year and the scenery never gets old .

The campsite was clean and well kept. It has all the basics. Flat place to put your tent and fire pit/grill. It however, is very close to a busy highway/road and every campsite is really close to each other. So if you are expecting a quiet place, this is probably not it. Just some things to consider.

Behind power plant. Unkempt campground. Terrible bathrooms. Lazy camp host. Not a destination.

Clean restrooms & showers. Seems to be a pretty popular spot. I would recommend filtering the potable water because it had a little sediment in it. The road was a little noisy during the day but settled down at night. The first come first serve spots were much appreciated. It was a little difficult to park 2 vehicles but we made it work. Good stop along the Georgia Traverse loop, stayed at site 32.

Lots of hiking nearby and you’re right along the river, in the mountains. The one downside is that you’re right off the highway so you get the noise of cars all night long.

This is among the best places to camp near the Ocoee River. In fact it is located between the whitewater of the Upper and Middle sections of the Ocoee River. You can get a good night's sleep here. There are also flush toilets and warm showers available. How alcohol is prohibited. Rangers have been known to search coolers and pelican boxes.

Beautiful spot but it could not handle my class a RV.... Hung out with some friends that were staying in their small van. Take the time to go up the road behind the campground. Best to have all-wheel drive!

Awesome camping area to the sound of rushing waters, did have so traffic noise early next morning but it's a work day.... Clean restrooms with showers (what a bonus) lots of hiking trails and not far from towns, if neededRestrooms: Clean and warm water for shower, nice !Dog-friendliness: As long as you have a leashed pet no problem...Picnic area: All areas I used where trash remains free , please to experience that

It's haunted. Take a left instead of the campsights until you see primitive camp sights. Choose the one by the creek.A woman may appear asking for help or you may hear female voices outside your tent in the middle of the night.Spooky stuff. And ghost planes.

Great place to camp. Wonderful people. Beautiful Surroundings.Needs Better Location Signage tho. Don't go up the device road to find it. Turn right after the bridge at the power plant!

The campsite itself is perfect, especially if you're running any section of the Ocoee and want to be right in the heart of the action. The 3-star rating is due to the current system/process in place for online and in-person reservations. I had booked a campsite for 4 nights online via the Recreation.gov app. When I arrived at the campground, each and every one of the sites had a "reserved" placard posted, mine included. There was a spot for the "reserved" dates to be listed, but none of the signs had anything written down with that information. The other side of the placard indicated "open," yet none of the sites had an "open" sign displayed. That first Wednesday evening, we had about 6 vehicles come through and drive away, thinking that all of the campsites were reserved. They were not, and remained open for the next couple of days. When the weekend hit, the campground was overrun by so many people that some of them just rolled the dice that a particular spot was open. I had to show my online reservation email to a couple of groups to prove that the campsite I was staying at was in fact reserved. It became VERY clear that whoever in the NPS/Forest Service was supposed to be adding dates onto the reserved spot placards had taken the week off, and the campers were the ones that had to deal with the fallout and tough conversations about who was staying where. Things could have gotten really bad and confrontational, but cooler heads prevailed and there were no major issues (other than campers not knowing if they would be kicked out of their campsite in the middle of the night). There was supposed to be a "camp host," but they were nowhere to be found.I would stay here again, but will definitely continue to reserve via the online system to show that my spot was in fact reserved. If you get a spot at the actual campsite, there is no way to know if it is actually reserved if the person with the dry erase markers doesn't feel like filling out the sign. If you're taking money from folks to fund the system, then do what you're supposed to so we can simply enjoy ourselves and relax rather then get in heated arguments because you didn't do your job. All you would have to do at a minimum is include a printout on the welcome sign of what's taken for a given day and what's available.
