“Pleasantly surprised at the selection of long skirts (I don't wear pants or shorts), it's not often I find such a treasure trove! Store is clean and organized, and the staff was super friendly. Far superior to it's Fort O counterpart.”

“This is absolute a fantastic place. I wish it was bigger and with a few more things, like baskets. This year everyone on my birthday list has a gift from Africa. There's items for yourself, household and babies. Inside there are items from India well, I believe.”

“We absolutely love this place! They have beautiful trails for hiking or even driving on, canoeing and native plants you can purchase. Cory Hagen took us on a tour to see the red wolves, bobcat, and sand hill crane. He was very knowledgeable. We walked on several trails around and past the lake and saw the beautiful wildflowers in bloom. Everyone here was so nice and friendly. We hope to come back soon!”

“This animal shelter is amazing! It's incredible how the staff cares for so many animals with such love and compassion – it's truly not an easy task! I was so impressed by how well the animals were looked after. Adopting a rescue animal is incredibly rewarding, and it's important to remember that the staff are doing their best to help these animals find loving homes. They deserve our patience and understanding throughout the adoption process. These animals deserve a loving home and a second chance. The staff here are doing such important work, and they deserve our support and respect.

Adopting my two boys, Pickles (formerly Fred) and Wasabi (formerly Cut), was the best decision ever! They weren't from the same litter, but they're now the most adorable, inseparable brothers. ❤️

It's true that some animals might have health issues, but that's a risk at any shelter. My boys had a minor intestinal issue and an eye infection, easily fixed by our vet. Just be sure to get your new pets checked out, especially if you have other animals at home.

I'm so grateful to this shelter for giving these sweet animals a chance. The world needs more places like this! Thank you to the amazing, compassionate staff!"”

“I pay $58 every month to get my medication from Medi Thrift instead of getting it free at CVS. Medi Thrift is what pharmacies are supposed to be. I have been in there twice when the pharmacist noticed something off with someone's prescriptions and intervene very possibly saving those people's lives when their doctor gave them something they shouldn't have had. That is never going to happen at a mega chain drugstore.”

“There are not many avenues of help for people when things get hard, call 311 and get their charity #'s list and call..you'd be surprised and possibly disappointed how far the help extends. There are a lot of "non-profit" agencies dipping into the funding in town, A LOT and yet there just isn't any help for most people. MetMin definitely fills a void, it is very hard to get through, Monday and Tuesday seem easier, Ive taken my elderly neighbor for free legal advice”

“I'm going to start this by saying that Michael Parker-Badge #251 with McKamey's Wildlife rescue division is an angel.I read some of the reviews and to be honest I am shocked. I just wonder if it's the same place. I've never taken an animal to a shelter or adopted one, all of my animals were strays that I just kept. When my father was alive he would take large bags of dog and cat food to them and also gallons of odor ban. My sister and niece used to volunteer there. Some of these reviews were about people calling for animals to be picked up that were roaming neighborhoods and alike. *Keep in mind as you read this next part that I do live in the city limits of Chattanooga*. I came home last night and there was a very sick maybe rabid racoon in my driveway. When I got out of my vehicle it just stared at me. I wasn't sure what to do because there was a stray cat that we feed on the porch at the top of the stairs he was blocking. He finally went up those stairs and I followed him and grabbed the stray cat and took him inside (we've been feeding this cat for years). This racoon was not only sick but it was injured and I had no idea what to do. My sister called McKamey and they came out within the hour, this was about 7:30 last night. This young man was extraordinary, his name is Michael Parker and he was patient and kind to me and this animal. He was very professional and it was dark and almost impossible to see in this outbuilding that the racoon had decided to hide in, but he did his work quickly, efficiently and as humanely as he could. I was so appreciative for this young man and his attitude during this whole issue. Thank You McKamey for this service and Michael Parker!”

“Review: Chattanooga Goodwill – A Hidden Gem Just Off I-75

On a recent interstate trip, I made a quick stop at the Chattanooga Goodwill, and I have to say—it was one of the best thrift stops of the entire journey.

First off, this store is clean, spacious, and well-organized, which is always a win when it comes to thrift shopping. The inventory was solid, with a good mix of clothing, books, and household goods, all at reasonable prices. The staff was helpful and friendly, which added to the overall positive experience.

Beyond the usual 50% off color tag sale, they also had a $1.29 special on anything with a color tag, which made for some even better finds. I managed to pick up a few books and a nice pair of pants, and I easily could have grabbed more if my car hadn’t already been packed to the brim.

Location-wise, this spot is super convenient—just minutes off I-75, with an easy-on, easy-off setup. If you’re passing through Chattanooga and need a quick thrifting fix, this one is definitely worth a stop.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars – great selection, solid deals, and a well-kept store. The only thing holding me back from a full five stars is that I didn’t have more room in m”

“Becca always has the friendliest smile and attitude. She is our favorite checkout employee of all. We always enjoy shopping at the Hixson Goodwill because of the great employees. We do find that the prices have gotten completely out of hand though. We have been shopping at this location for several years and the prices increase is insane. Yes we understand that a large percentage of the profit goes back into the organization, however, the items are donated!!! We have found so many items that are 80 - 90 percent of retail. I think you tend to forget, these are used items and not new. We saw two matching pieces of furniture. Obviously they went together. One was 59.99, the other one was 79.99! ??? I actually found an item at Home Depot cheaper than the used item on your shelf!!!”
