Most units were closed on the day we visited. However, the concept of an arts community where the artists live above their studios is a very interesting idea. The architecture was attractive and the place was very clean.

Pretty place and was looking forward to the shops, but nothing was open and we went on a day when everything was supposed to be open. Not sure what happened but that is a place I visit when I go yearly to Tennessee So was disappointed all the shops were closed ?

This place is almost empty. Owner won’t open the public restroom. Hope you don’t have to pee.

We really enjoy Split Rail Eats. It's really a shame that the owners of this whole complex of buildings have let the maintenance and cleanliness fall into disrepair and litter. The parking lot was littered with beer bottle caps, throw away cups, straws, paper, etc. Then there is the bridge which has been damaged since last summer or before and instead of repairing it the right way, they just layed loose boards on top. Really a shame.

Back in the day, this was probably a great place to visit. Shops were closed, and looks run down. Don't waste your time.

Advertised much different than actually is. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit or make a special trip to see it.

Cool little shops it was pretty dead when we were there on a weekend. Looks like a lot of shops went out of business, it's a shame because the ones that were open were really nice.

Some of the shops & restaurants are closed on Mondays & Tuesdays, so I'll definitely be back, but the layout kind of reminds me of Colonial Williamsburg. In one section, they have shops & eateries below, and apartments above. I was told in the other section, they were transforming the apartments into Airbnb's, as if they don't have enough of them in Gatlinburg already. Anyway, they do have some cool shops with members of the Arts & Crafts Community, so I highly recommend making this one of your stops.

Some cute shops and two cafes. One with a buffet connected to a small market. Food was excellent and fresh.

We were checking out the Gatlinburg area and found this hidden gem. It’s a mixed use complex with everything from quaint shops, condos and restaurants. The setting is so peaceful and serene. Quite the opposite of the busy and noisy downtown areas. We decided to eat lunch there and the restaurant, Split Rail Eats was fantastic! Don’t miss this opportunity if your visiting the Smoky Mountains. You won’t be disappointed.

Drove through the nice small covered bridge. Not hard to find and near shopping. Being from a state with no covered bridges it was something we wanted to see.
