About Sugarlands Visitor Center
Sugarlands Visitor Center is a great place to get Smokey Mountain National Park information, parking tickets, and merch. The visitor center has lots of information about the animals, a cool diorama of the park, and a pretty big gift shop. Staff is friendly and very informative. The location is beautiful and provides access to a few trails. There are lots of short, easy hike options with well-groomed trails and plenty of signage, including a quick hike to Cataract Falls and another to an old cabin, which is good for families with younger children. The area offers moonshine tasting. A common downside is that it can be super crowded, especially on weekends, which can impact parking and facilities.

This is a great, but overwhelmed, visitors center. The employees are so great despite the overwhelming demand on them. I highly recommend stopping here. There are some nice, short hiking trails that start here too.

We had a great experience here. The cashier told us where to get additional stamps and Bill Horton provided excellent information for a fun itinerary that was well planned out based on his recommendations. Thanks, Bill!
