We visited the store to cash in our lottery tickets, which totaled $68.00 for me and $86.00 for him, amounting to a combined total of $151.00. During the transaction, the cashier was attentive as she processed our tickets while a woman whom I assumed was the manager stood nearby observing. However, when it came time to receive our payout, the manager unexpectedly informed us that she could not process our tickets, stating that company policy limited cashing out to $100.00, compelling us to purchase $50.00 worth of lottery tickets instead.
As a regular purchaser of lottery tickets, I am well aware that any Tennessee Lottery retailer can cash out amounts less than $600.00 without complications. Furthermore, there was no signage in the store to indicate any restrictions on cashing tickets, which was misleading and frustrating.
In addition to the inconvenience, I felt that I was subjected to racial profiling during this incident, which was particularly humiliating in front of both customers and your employees. This experience has left me deeply unsettled, and I plan to contact the Tennessee Education Lottery Security to investigate this distressing matter further.
I hope this feedback leads to an improvement in service and clarity of policies at your establishment.
