Beautiful hotel! The room was comfortable. My view overlooked the street, which was always busy with cars going by. The lobby was comfortable and inviting. My conference was in Ballroom A. The HVAC worked too well, we froze for two days, which may have been the presenters preference. The hotel has a story and many believe it to be haunted. I don’t give a lot of thought to that however, I will say I was awakened at 2:03 AM to loud footsteps on the floor above mine. No doors ever closed just loud footsteps on my ceiling for about three minutes. I was told the following morning as I inquired about someone stomping around that history or the ghost story is it is the General walking around. I’m not a person who believes in ghosts but I can say I heard footsteps on my ceiling. No doors shutting or toilet flushing, just loud footsteps that vanished after about three minutes after they began. The only negative I have deals with being able to hear everything in the room connecting to mine. There was a connector door that was locked, which may have been why I could hear everything from the room beside of mine. I would stay there again and request a room that did not connect to mine. We walked down to Tipton’s for lunch which is full of history, as well.

We were in town for a concert at The Capital Theatre. We were thrilled with everything from check in to check out. All of the front desk clerks were very nice and informative. When the concert was over we sat in the foyer in front of the fireplace to wind down a bit, made a cup of tea from the many tea, & hot chocolate selections, complimentary. Made it back to the room and was able to relax. I was very pleased and impressed with the cleanliness of the carpet throughout the building. When we were leaving they were starting to decorate for Valentines Day and got to take a quick picture in front of the fireplace.Rooms: The room smelled very clean when we entered the room, no mustiness, and the carpet was very clean and plush, the bed was very comfortable, I do wish I had of brought my pillow from home, nothing like your own pillow.Nearby activities: We were in walking distance to everything we were there to doSafety: Everything was well lit and easy access.Walkability: The Inn was in walking distance to everything we were there to do.Food & drinks: They had water available at the front desk that saved a trip to the store. Also vending machines around the building. Also, Brumley's inside the Inn, very good. Also, a beautiful bar inside the Inn.

The place is really neat. You feel like you’re in an old, classy hotel. The rooms are roomy and well supplied with everything you need. The workers were kind and helpful. My only negative marks are that the price is a bit high, especially given that there is no complimentary snacks or breakfast. They give you a voucher for a coffee shop that has no real food, just pastries. All and all it was a good stay but a big let down with no breakfast given I paid more than other places in the area.

Beautifully restored and maintained downtown hotel, Lounge and hotel with attentive, helpful& friendly staff. Our buffet was everything we had hoped for. My wife was sure to thank the Master Chef who carved the delicious prime rib and kept a watchful eye on the buffet and many of the diners!

Beautiful old hotel located centrally downtown. Rooms are rather small as would be expected for this period and tastefully decorated. Staff were helpful with a very positive attitude and food was delightful. Would stay again.Walkability: Location is downtown within walking distance to dining, shops, etc. Quaint little town.
