It's was absolutely awful! They dropped my stackable washer and dryer. They were supposed to file it on the insurance. I. Never heard back and they stopped answering my call. I wouldn't refer anyone to use them.

My sister had used Small Time a few times and recommended them. I was moving back to Chattanooga from Alabama. When they were unloading my furniture , the last to come off truck was my new $1700 kingsize mattress and boxsprings. Water was actually pouring out of them. It rained on the trip and their truck had a major leak. Called and Debbie assured me they would take care of it. She didn't want to claim it on insurance, so we agreed on $1000 to be made in two payments. Weeks later I received the 1st check for $500.Took it to the bank and the funds weren't available. So the next morning I took check back to bank and the funds were there...but they had a stop payment on the check ! Would not recommend this company !!!!

I have used Small Time Movers many MANY times in the last 20 years both personally and professionally. I have over 15 years as an Assisted Living Sales Director in the Chattanooga area and recommended this company exclusively for years because of their "top notch" service. On a couple of occasions they even put up pictures and hung up clothes for my new residents. Personally, I have used them twice and I am about to hire them a third time. Never late, never had missing or broken items, never overcharged. I can't say the same for that National 3 gorilla's and a truck company.

We've hired Small Time Movers twice - once to move us from one house to another, and another time to move a piano and various other antique furniture from grandparents' houses to our house. They were great to work with both times - they arrived on time, were professional, took great care of our belongings, and got the job done without issues (including getting a 105 year old piano up a considerable hill to our house, and by hand, since they couldn't back the truck up our driveway). They offer a great service at a reasonable price, and I won't hesitate to hire them again!

I like how an employee posted a fake review on here acting as a customer. Small time movers, big time liars.ðŸ‘

They were mediocre at the actual move out/in part. While the movers were friendly and tried to do what we asked they did leave random things behind that we had to go clear. The main reason I can only give them 2 stars is that some of our son's toys were broken. For example, we had a putting green, and the literally pulled the green off the ramp! It's not meant to be separated when it was glued down before. We had a handful of items missing. Things that weren't even near each other. I spoke with a woman who seemed to be a manager or higher up. She said she would tell the owner. I literally called numerous times and even after jogging her memory, I never heard back and the issue was never resolved. Those items are just lost in the move. I would NOT recommend this company.

The gentlemen who moved us were polite and courteous. That's the good news. When I booked this move I was told three movers would have the whole move done in 3-4 hours. The person who took my information transcribed my phone number wrong resulting in a missed appointment to actual view my house. The owner, Bill, insisted he didn't need to see inside. Two movers showed up Twenty minutes late at 8:20am in a uhaul truck instead of the three movers I was promised in the expected professional truck. They finished out move at 4:45 taking almost 5 hours longer than promised. I had to loan them moving blankets. They two movers only had one hand truck between them. We drove one of them to their personal vehicle to pick up a dolly so they could move the heavier pieces. The movers didn't have the address (despite my having given it over the phone). They had no sort of GPS system to get themselves there. Obviously no one had bothered to look at the new house; google street view would have shown them there was no way to get the uhaul up the driveway. Then the owner says they are going to charge me for a full 8.45 hour move plus $40 fuel charge. Why did I have to ask them not to charge me for the half hour lost driving their people around for equipment, the time missed for the late arrival, the short lunch break, and a fuel charge no one had previously mentioned? The houses were a whole three miles apart. They didn't pay for the fuel we spent. Not the worst move I've ever had, but definitely don't recommend this company to anyone.

What a disappointment. First, the movers that came to our home seemed to be doing us a favor. After the first day of moving, we found the men had not only left a left pieces of furniture behind, they also had removed a door to remove some furniture and then neglected to put the door back on. When we called the next day to have the movers pick up the forgotten furniture and re-attach the removed door, they arrived with an attitude. Not only that, but (as we feared) some of our property had been "lost." When I called a few weeks later, I called Debbie to tell her about some of the missing property I never heard back from her. (We're still missing a framed mirror that went over our dining room set, part of a bedroom set, and many missing tools.) While their estimate was well below national chains, this local company doesn't have safe- guards of labeling every box and piece of furniture, so we had no recourse. If you should opt to use this company, be vigilant. Their prices may be better, but for a reason. Watch EVERY thing they do and LABEL EVERYTHING and check it off as it is delivered. If you have a problem, don't expect any help from Bill or Debbie.

I'm a bit young, so I had this was my first move hiring other people. Debbie was extremely kind and helpful in setting up my move, and I really feel like they had a genuine interest in making sure I was taken care of. They even called me afterward to follow up and check on me! They also helped me with some things I hadn't finished packing (life!) without complaint. Everything was packed and padded well. Gave them each a tip. Charles was extremely professional and respectful with everything. They were a little late because of an accident, but that's totally out of their control. They are great around children too! 10/10 would recommend.

Our reviews speak for themselves.... Please check us out on Angies List. We are horrified to hear of Ms. Lisa's terrible experience. It simply isnt true. We have been in this business for over 40 yrs. and we have always made our customers our priority. Unfortunatley, we can not please everyone. We have the highest standards when it comes to customer service as well as our employees. Ms. Lisa was given all of the attention and care that was needed to take care of the actual situation and circumstances of her move. Frank And James are not emploees of Small Time Movers. We apperciate your business give us a call today for your professional, affordable move today. Thank You!

I have to say to stay away from this company. We hired them to move us from GA to TX. They said they would provide two trucks and move one of our SUV's in the truck, leaving one plus trucks for our stuff. But, a couple days before our move date, they called to say they could only send us one truck and would have one of their guys drive the SUV. Since we had to be out of our house for the seller to move in within a couple days, it was too late to sign on with another mover. In brief, it was a horror show. My SUV that was in near mint condition was delivered totaled. But, the guy (Frank) who was with the driver (James) told us there were just a couple dents barely noticeable. Frank stated he filed a police report at the time of the incident as a hit and run from what he said he thought was someone backing into it in the hotel parking lot. This ended up being a total fabrication of the truth. In fact, the damages were on both sides of the vehicle, not one, and not at all consistent with their story. And,as it turned out, there was no police report filed at the time of the incident. However, Debbie (the manager) did download an incident form stating something happened in the parking lot in Monroe, NC to which we received weeks later. Besides the exterior dents the length of the passenger side of the SUV, wheels scraped, and tire ruined on the driver side, the upholstery had grease on my tan cloth seats and the ceiling had many large, obvious ugly stains and discolorations. Debbie (the manager) said she would 'take care of it by filing a claim with her insurance company'. But, I found out from her insurance agent she never had any coverage for personal vehicles, only liability for furniture damage and the like, as well as full coverage for their commercial vehicles. So I ended up having to file with my insurance carrier. Fortunately, I had full coverage. But, I still owed a $500 deductible. Then, there was the sun tanning bed that was never delivered along with other things since there was no room on the truck. They also damaged our washing machine having to buy a new one due to not being able to find a replacement cord they broke, a refrigerator repair since the door wouldn't shut, scratches on our desks that weren't put together right, and huge chunks on wood chipped out of my pretty white headboard. The SUV was also delivered empty, no gas in the tank and light flashing. Despite multiple attempts to get some kind of reimbursement from the company for anything, we got nowhere. They wouldn't send us a claim form for damages when it was requested. Pics sent were ignored. No apology ... just excuses that we signed the form at the end saying everything was on the truck. Debbie told me that damages happen during moves as though it was to be expected... in other words... live with it. This was the worst move ever. We are out thousands of dollars... WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM FOR EVEN THE SMALLEST MOVE. THEY AREN'T HONEST. If you want promises not delivered, lies and deception, and a lot of damages that you will pay for, then go ahead and take your chances on them. Otherwise, RUN away and get someone honest /dependable and save yourself the headache. (Chattanooga, TN -Small Time Movers is who I dealt with specifically)
